"Whiteness" by Chiloé Rosanto. Artist Chiloé Rosanto presents his experimental performance „Whiteness“ at the Darkroom Project VI in Muro Leccese. Reaching far beyond traditional prints derived from negatives, these works require no matrix, as they are anthropometries on photographic paper, rendering each of them absolutely one-of-a-kind and unrepeatable. Inspired by Yves Klein and Man Ray, Chiloè Rosanto's experimentation with this original technique is very much a reflection of the artist’s inner turmoil. Unburdened from the confines and privacy of a darkroom, he unravels his sheets under the light and eyes of his audience, now voyeurs in this usually intimate process. He then progresses to smear black grease on a nude female body which will soil the otherwise pristine white paper thus reflecting the sense of guilt in his conflictual relationship with erotic photography. Through a chemical inversion of the photographic process, the artist then begins developing his work: the imprint left by the body becomes white, while the rest of the paper darkens to the deepest of blacks. This inversion symbolizes the revelation of his obsession with the female nude, exalted now as an expression of pure beauty and universal harmony, originating humanity in its entirety. The bodies are now purified, filled with immaculate white, leaving the remaining paper, the outside world, judging and foul. From this purification process, the title "Whiteness" emerges, echoed by the voices of the nude models with whom through his photographs he has established an eternal bond. Tali lavori vanno oltre l'unicita' della stampa da negativo, in quanto non richiedono alcuna matrice, ma sono delle antropomentrie su carta fotografica, uniche ed irripetibili. Ispirandosi a Yves Klein e Man Ray, Chiloè Rosanto sperimenta una tecnica originale che rispecchia il suo stravolgimento interiore. Srotola i suoi fogli alla luce, davanti al pubblico, non in una camera oscura. Usa una ragazza nuda, da lui stesso unta di nero, che lascerà un'impronta sporca sulla carta bianca. Questo sudiciume, rappresenta il senso di colpa nel rapporto conflittuale con la fotografia erotica. Successivamente, invertendo la chimica del processo fotografico inizia a sviluppare le sue opere; qui l'impronta della modella diviene bianca, mentre il resto della carta si scurisce fino ai neri più profondi. L'inversione creata dall'artista rappresenta la sua rivelazione dell'ossessione per il nudo femminile, esaltata come espressione di una bellezza e armonia universale, generatrice dell'umanità intera. Adesso i corpi si purificano, si riempiono di un bianco candore, lasciando la rimanente carta, il mondo esterno, giudice e sporca. Da tale purificazione sceglie il nome "Whiteness", ripetuto dalle voci di tutte le sue modelle di nudo, con le quali, attraverso le sue foto, ha stabilito un legame eterno.
