Despite the growing interest of Russian organizations in artificial intelligence, the level of application of neural network-based technologies in Russia remains low, — 5.4%
According to a study by the Institute of Statistical Research and Knowledge Economics (ISEE) of the Higher School of Economics (HSE), in 2020, only 5.4% of Russian organizations used artificial intelligence-based technologies in their activities. One of the most common uses of AI companies is data mining and natural language processing (for example, virtual assistants and chatbots) — this technology was introduced by about 70% of organizations using AI — 3.8% of the total number of respondents. The second most common is computer vision (3.7%) — it is used mainly in production processes. It is noted that the introduction of AI systems requires a radical restructuring of business processes and significant financial investments: only large players can afford such projects.
