New Hampshire school bus driver Michael Chick was arrested and federally charged with interstate stalking.
Michael Chick, 39, of Eliot, Maine, is also being accused of threatening the child's family and traveling across state lines to make the alleged threats, according to the statement.
The boy's family alleges that Chick gave their son two Tracfone cell phones, according to court documents obtained by CNN. Chick later admitted to providing the child with three phones, documents show. Chick also allegedly requested that the boy take inappropriate pictures of himself and send the photos to him, documents show.
During a police investigation, Chick told officers that he placed cellular GPS tracking devices on each of the child's parents' vehicles, documents show. Chick also told police he visited the child's "residence between 6 -- 10 times during the night just to walk around the house," court documents show, citing the police investigation.
On August 5, the day of Chick's arrest, the child provided his family with additional details on Chick's alleged behavior toward him, court records show. In an interview with police that day, the boy claimed Chick talked with him about an organization called "The Team," documents show. The boy said Chick told him "The Team" would kidnap and torture the child if he did not meet their demands, according to the documents.
The parents first alerted their son's school, Greenland Central School, in April about alleged comments and actions from Chick, including giving small gifts and candy to children and leaving get-well cards saying how much he missed them when they were absent, documents show.
CNN has reached out to the office of the superintendent of the Portsmouth School District for comment.
A spokesperson for the bus company First Student told CNN on Friday that Chick is no longer employed there. In a statement, the bus company said, "Behavior such as this is completely unacceptable and at odds with what we stand for as a company." It added, "We are cooperating with the authorities and given that this is an active investigation, we are unable to comment further."
Chick had an initial appearance hearing on Monday and was ordered to be detained until at least his detention hearing, according to court documents. Chick is scheduled for a preliminary hearing and detention hearing on August 18.
Chick's public defender, Behzad Mirhashem, declined to comment on his behalf.

The School District of Philadelphia has announced the COVID-19 protocols for the school year, which include different tiers based on a student's COVID-19 status. All students will be required to wear a mask for the first 10 days of the school year before it becomes optional.
PHILADELPHIA - With the start of the school year for Philadelphia students right around the corner, officials announced updated health protocols.
Superintendent Tony B. Watlington Sr. and School District Medical Officer Kendra B. McDow announced the health and safety protocols for the upcoming school year at a press conference on Friday.
The announcement comes one day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed COVID-19 guidelines , including a quarantine period and social distancing.
As nearly 200,000 students prepare to return to schools, Watlington said the health and safety of students had been on the mind of the administration, which is taking a multi-layered approach.
District officials say schools will have air and surface purifiers, touchless hand sanitizer stations and touchless hydration centers.
Each school will also be sanitized before the first day of school and daily when the school year begins.
Watlington says the district is working closely with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and they are committed to keeping students in school for in-person learning.
The new COVID-19 protocols will be tiered depending on a student's COVID-19 status.
According to the new protocols, there are three different levels, including masking, mask to stay and isolation.
For the upcoming school year, masks are option, but recommended for students and staff, except for the following:
The school district says students and staff who have been exposed to COVID-19 are no longer required to quarantine unless they have symptoms. Students who are exposed can now return to school, but they must wear a mask for 10 days.
Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate at home for at least five calendar days and participate in remote learning.
Parents will also be required to notify the school's nurse or call the COVID Response Team. If a child is symptom-free after five days in isolation, the student can return to school, but they must wear a mask for five days and eat in a designated area at school.
School nurses will provide COVID-19 testing for students who show symptoms during the school day. If there is an outbreak at the school, a testing vendor will come to allow for additional testing at the school.
Students must have a signed parental consent form on file at the school in order to be tested.
Officials say COVID-19 vaccines are encouraged but not required for students or student-athletes.
The School District says it is also working closely with Philadelphia DPH to monitor monkeypox and will seek guidance to identify safety measures for schools.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have dropped the requirements to social distance and quarantine. Dr. Angela M. Nicholas joins "Good Day Philadelphia" to discuss.
