WARNING: DISTURBING CONTENT: Tyler Lowis has admitted to sexually assaulting the boy and his brother, and recording video of several of the sick attacks on a tablet computer
A married man is facing a life sentence after raping a diaper-clad boy on camera and forcing him to put a pacifier in his mouth to muffle his screams.
Tyler Lowis has admitted to sexually assaulting the boy and his brother, and recording video of several of the sick attacks on a tablet computer.
The 23-year-old put one of the boys in a diaper and gave him a pacifier and sippy cup during some of the sexual assaults which occurred over two years.
Lowis, who was living with his wife at the time, also referred to himself as "daddy" and called his victim "baby boy", court records revealed.
Lowis, from the village of Sparta in the US state of Michigan, has pleaded guilty to four felony charges including two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, the TV news station WZZM reports.
He also admitted one count of possessing child sexually abusive materials.
Five other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal.
The abuse began after Lowis met the boys when they were aged about 11 and 13, court records state.
Police launched an investigation in August last year when they were tipped off to a collection of child abuse images by the file sharing website Dropbox.
Images showed toddlers and infants being sexually abused by adults, according to court documents.
Detectives searched Lowis' tablet and found three videos of the sexual assaults and video and images of the victim "wearing only a diaper and having a pacifier in his mouth", the documents state.
He allegedly told police that he had been sexually abusing the brothers until a week before his arrest, Fox 13 reports.
Court documents revealed that he made one of the victims use diapers, a sippy cup and a baby bottle.
Lowis is due to be sentenced next month.

FIVE boys as young as twelve have been detained in Germany on suspicion of gang-raping a woman in a park, sparking a row about whether the country's age of criminality should be lowered.
The youths stand accused of assaulting a mentally disabled 18-year-old woman, but German prosecutors admit some of them are too young to stand trial.
Three of them are 14, the earliest age at which offenders can be prosecuted in Germany, but two are only 12, meaning they cannot be arrested or charged.
The incident took place on Friday in the western city of Mülheim after the group, all originally from Bulgaria, purportedly lured the victim into a playground in the park.
Reports say they then dragged her into some bushes and filmed a sexual assault on their phones.
A spokesman for local police said: "There was violence, massive violence."
Police did not share details of the attack, but local media said the woman was "abused in various ways".
Residents nearby were alerted to the incident after their dogs would not stop barking.
After an hour, a 61-year-old man reportedly came out of his house after an hour and saw the woman and two suspects, who fled the scene immediately.
The man found the injured and traumatised woman on the ground and alerted police.
She was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
The victim was able to give detailed descriptions of the perpetrators, and police later arrested all five.
In Germany, the minimum age at which a child is considered to be criminally responsible for an offence is 14, while in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland the equivalent age is ten.
Rainer Wendt, the head of the police force union, said: "For years we've been demanding that the age of criminal responsibility be lowered in Germany."
But the head of the German Association of judges, Jens Gnisa, said: "The equation 'more punishment, less criminality' does not work with youths.
"The educational rules established in German law are enough to tackle juvenile crime."
Speaking about Friday's incident, police spokesman Peter Elke said: "After we determined that two of the group members are 12 years old and therefore are not criminally responsible, we handed them over to the parents.
"The three 14-year-olds were arrested and detained overnight.
"They were released on Saturday after interrogation."
The two 12-year-olds will reportedly be handled by Germany's Youth Welfare Office.
A police investigator who wanted to remain anonymous told local media that an arrest warrant had no chance of success in this case.
"Due to the current legal situation, it is very difficult to bring suspects who are that young into custody," he said.
"However, the problem now is that they can freely discuss the victim's statement with each other to cast doubt on it."
Reports have said the five teenagers are from the southern Bulgarian town of Pazardzhik and are partly related to each other.
The incident is similar to a case a year ago in Velbert, a town near Mulheim, where a gang of eight Bulgarian teens raped a 13-year-old girl.
The perpetrators in that case were eventually jailed, receiving jail sentences varying from nine months to four years.
Investigations into the most recent incident are ongoing.

Samkelo Mabaso* was raped by a stranger in Nelspruit, but when he told his friends they laughed at him so he decided not to report the rape.
“I still remember that horrible night like it was just yesterday,” said Mabaso, 26, who was walking home at around 7pm. “In front of me, there were two ladies and behind me, a man. Those ladies took a turn and I continued on the same road and the man followed me.
“As I was about to take a left turn, the man hit the back of my head. I woke up in an abandoned house. He was on top of me and he took his penis and put it between my thighs. Then he turned me over and with force, he raped me,” said Mabaso.
The following morning, Mabaso opened up to a group of his friends because he needed their support and advice
“But instead of comforting me, they laughed at me,” said Mabaso. “One of my friends said: ‘What, are you gay now?’ I just said ‘I’m not gay, I was raped’. But at that moment I knew that disclosing the event and opening a case would be a waste of time because, if my friends thought it was a joke, other people would probably also make fun of me.”
Without support, understanding and advice from friends, Mabaso decided to keep quiet and deal with the trauma by himself because of the fear of being judged. But he soon realised that he was in needed of help and spoke to Andrew Langa, a lay preacher at his church.
“Rape is a sensitive issue and traumatic event to someone. Mabaso tried opening up but after being laughed at, he stopped disclosing the rape and he never got post-exposure prophylaxis that may have protected him from HIV,” said Langa.
If an HIV negative person has been raped, they can take a course of antiretroviral medicine within 72 hours of the rape and this – known as post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) – protects them against HIV infection.
Mabaso has not reported the rape yet, but Langa hope that, “with time and counselling he will do so”.
Meanwhile, one of Mabaso’s friends has since realised that their response was wrong: “When Samkelo first told us, we honestly thought it was a joke because he always jokes but we soon realised it wasn’t when he stopped socialising with us,” said the friend who cannot be named to protect Samkelo’s real identity.
“On behalf of my friends I would like to apologise to him because, by laughing at him and not trusting him, it feels like we have let him down.”
The South African Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse (www.samsosa.org) was set up to offer support to male victims of rape. Rees Mann, founder of SAMSOSA, says that 19.4% of all victims of sexual abuse in 2012 were male victims.
“One in five adult males are the victims in sexual offences and this figure could be much higher as a male is 10 times less likely to report a sexual violation than a woman. This could mean that South Africa could have the highest number of adult male victims in the world,” said Mann, himself a survivor of rape and sexual abuse.
“It is because of this that SAMSOSA, launched in September, serves as a resource and referral centre, providing information, support and training for victims, affected individuals and organisations in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
Mann says he realised, after his own experiences of abuse, that there were no support systems in South Africa for males: “Disclosing your sexual abuse encounter can be an extremely difficult thing to do. Choosing the right person to share your story about what happened to you can really make things easier, allowing you to feel a lot better about yourself and your situation,” he explains.
He adds that victims need to understand that what has happened to them is not their fault and that people from all walks of life can be affected by sexual abuse, including men. “There needs to be a dialogue and a safe space for men to confront these experiences and come to terms with the fact that they are not to blame.” – Health-e News.

Four pupils from the Jan Kempdorp High School in the Northern Cape will appear in court on Friday morning on charges of rape and assault, after a black learner was raped by the four white learners with a broomstick last Sunday.
Northern Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the four learners alleged to have committed the act were charged and taken to court on Friday. The victim’s mother, who lives in Postmasburg, contacted the police and the police then went to the school, where the learners were charged.
A video of the incident shows the boy tied to a school bed, crying and screaming while the learners rubbed a white substance on his body and raped him.
Naidu said the court would decide whether the boys would be detained or released on bail later on Friday.
Meanwhile, Democratic Alliance spokesperson Phumzile van Damme said the party would protest at the school on Friday morning.
Video City Press reported that the four-minute video shows a group of six white pupils, who were wearing only their underpants, attacking the child.
The video, which was seen by City Press , shows the boy bound to a bed and painted with a white substance before the boys raped him. A group of black pupils are also seen watching the attack.
Before he was raped, the video shows his attackers shaving his head and his buttocks. The boy can be heard screaming and crying as his attackers and other boys in the room laugh and joke.
The assault allegedly took place in the agricultural school’s hostel in Jan Kempdorp, which is on the border with the North West.
Northern Cape education spokesperson Sydney Stander said the video was shot on Sunday at the hostel.
‘Blatant racism’ The victim’s grandmother informed the school of the attack on Wednesday after the child finally told her what happened.
The child is apparently a new pupil at the school.
“You cannot tell me that these learners at this age with their level of education didn’t know that what they were doing is unacceptable. This is blatant racism,” Stander said to the newspaper.
“How do you take a broom and shove it into the rectum of a young boy? Inflicting pain on another human is criminal,” he added.
‘Un-African’ behaviour In a statement, Northern Cape education MEC Grizelda Cjiekella-Lecholo said she was at a loss for words.
“This type of behaviour is un-African, inhumane and does not belong in our schooling system. I am going to ensure that these boys face the full might of our due process and the law … ” she said.
Cjiekella-Lecholo added that her department “cannot continue to bend over for those who continue to reject the changes that have been embraced by many in our country”.
