Romain GressotNotes
Morning - Hostel
- Cold shower.
- Sharing tea with Alex, the man that likes to talk and drink. He talks about sport, nearby. But I do not understand.
12.07 p.m. - Library on Lenin Avenue
- There is a sport event going on right now outside. That's what Alex was talking about. A relay race. Car traffic is stopped. Young people warming up everywhere. Light security deployment.

- Informed hostel staff that I'd stay two more nights and leave. At least for a few nights.
12.57 p.m. - =
- (R1)
1.25 p.m. - =
- On VKontact application. I added the bike seller, names Egor, instead of the Egor from the young group I followed. Because I registered his number in my contact list.
- I added Gemma in my contact list. She posts short videos on her "timeline". I appear in one of them.
1.30 p.m. - =
- The sport event seems to be over. No more running people nor spectators, and traffic started again.
2.49 p.m. - Free Time fast food
- Eating
Later - River side
- I'm at the end of the dock with the bike. Looking at the port. A boat with a Chinese flag comes close (fifty meters) to the Russian river side.
- I see individual fishers.
- From where I am, I can see the bridge linking Russia to China.
Later - In Blago
- While I leave the docks, the left pedal of my bike falls off. I lost a bolt. By luck, last night, I spotted a bike fixing shop near my position. I manage to get there. I buy a tool and a bolt. But I need other tools. I find a wrench and a torch in a warehouse shop. I tinker the bike in front of the shop. Then go back to the hostel.
6.38 p.m. - Hostel
- Browsing the internet until late.
- Hearing fireworks, like almost every night.
Reflections
- R1: What or who's the ethnographic notepad I have ever seen? One from Alban Bensa, illegible, and an herbarium from Florence Brunois. I do not remeber seeing any other raw data from an anthropologist.
