SCR-EURAUD_advanced -4.5% π» +81% π β +12%

Both strategies closed October in the red. In the context of their long-term records, though, this is a manageable pullback: each remains well in the green year-to-date, and the long-term growth curves are intact. πͺ

π What happened in October
October was a demanding month for the system, particularly its second half. Conditions were choppy, and the pressure built into the final trading day.
β‘ The final trading day. Markets were shaken by news of a major security breach at Binance, reported at $5.57 billion. Volatility spiked across the financial markets, and the system felt it too. This was also where most of the monthβs loss was booked.
π‘οΈ The safety mechanism did its job. The protective layer of the system worked exactly as designed. Positions were closed at the pre-defined loss levels, and nothing got out of control.
A loss that was defined in advance and then taken as planned is not a failure of the system. It is the system doing what it was built to do. β
π Under the hood: what drove the result
πΉ SCR-EURAUD (2 trading pairs)
- EURAUD, the engine of this strategy, accounted for about 40% of all trades and tipped the monthly balance to the negative side. π
- AUDCAD was the strongest contributor of the month. π
πΉ SCR-EURAUD_advanced (multi-pair)
- The weakest pairs were GBPCAD, GBPAUD and EURAUD. Together they generated up to 80% of all trading transactions, so their weak month had an outsized effect on the total. π
- AUDCAD was again the most profitable pair. π
The takeaway: AUDCAD delivered for both strategies, which shows how diversification across pairs cushions the result, even in a tough month. π§©
ποΈ A pattern worth noting: the βOctober effectβ
While reviewing the history, we spotted an interesting seasonal tendency in SCR-EURAUD_advanced:
Year 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026
October -1.9% -0.3% -1.5% -1.4% -0.3% -0.0% +1.9% -4.5%
Out of eight Octobers, seven were negative or flat. Most were mild, typically around -1%, and this yearβs was the deepest. π
A few points for perspective:
- It is a statistical observation, not a forecast. We treat it as useful context and not as a trading signal.
- Past Octobers were all followed by recoveries. November has been positive in most years, and the long-term curve has kept climbing. π
- SCR-EURAUD tells a different story: its previous seven Octobers were all positive (+1.3% to +5.5%). So October 2026 is an exception for this strategy, not a rule.
π§ Plan for November
β Continue trading in the current mode. There is no evidence that the logic of the system needs to be changed.
π Account for the broker server-time change. Many brokers are moving to winter server time, and we are adjusting for this so that session-based logic stays properly aligned.
π Risk management stays unchanged. It worked as intended in October.
A modest, controlled drawdown is a normal cost of running a systematic strategy over the long term, and Octoberβs loss is well within that range. We stay disciplined and keep working. π
π¬ Final thoughts
Every systematic strategy has months like this. What matters is how the system behaves in them: risk was contained, protection triggered as designed, and the core edge is untouched. π
Thank you for your trust and patience. See you in the November report! π
