Emma Torres designed and implemented a new Pacific Surf Academy curriculum module targeting the beginner-to-intermediate transition -- the stage she identified in her own learning as the most difficult and least well-served by existing instruction. "I got stuck there," Torres confirmed. "Most students get stuck there. The existing module didn't address what I know gets students stuck." The module: six sessions targeting the specific technical and psychological challenges of the transition.

"I designed the module I needed when I was stuck," she confirmed. "I couldn't have designed it without being stuck there."
