Pacific Surf Academy's first formal instructor training programme graduated its first cohort of four instructors. Carlos Park graduated as the most experienced of the four, having already given 350 lessons. Emma Torres confirmed: "The formal programme validated what four instructors were already doing and gave three new instructors a structure they wouldn't have had informally." Carlos Park confirmed: "The programme taught me what I was already doing. Knowing what you're doing is different from doing it."
