  1. Can you give us a quick introduction to Chiliz, fan tokens, and share the latest updates from the ecosystem?



Chiliz, the leading Web3 infrastructure provider for Sports and Entertainment, connects fans, teams, and brands from all around the globe onchain. As the creator of Fan Tokens, Chiliz’s mission is to onboard millions of sports fans worldwide into Web3, while also connecting Web3-native sports fans with the Chiliz ecosystem, through rewarding their meaningful offchain and onchain contribution with a transparent and community-driven model.


Some key projects within the ecosystem include:


Fan Tokens – the tokenised voting rights for fans, with fan tokens, fans can participate in team polls and influence real-world decisions like kit designs, pre-match playlists, or stadium features and earn exclusive rewards like signed merchandise, VIP experiences etc.


Socios.com app — The gateway for fan tokens and club engagement, where users can vote in team polls, earn rewards, and access exclusive experiences.


FanX Protocol — A decentralized exchange and launchpad for fan ownership, enabling swaps, liquidity, and direct participation in sports-driven token economies.


Pepper DAO — A community token built on Chiliz Chain, rewarding active participation and fostering collaboration between fans and creators.



2. How are your current partnerships with sports clubs progressing, and can fans look forward to any exciting new collaborations?



Chiliz is now partnered with over 70 global sports organizations, including top football teams like FC Barcelona, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as teams from other sports like UFC and Esports. Recently we’ve acquired OG, the back-to-back Dota2 winner.


Back in 2022, we made significant strides in the United States by sponsoring the five major sports leagues. However, at the time, the regulatory environment around crypto was more cautious, which limited our ability to deepen those partnerships. Today, the landscape has shifted considerably, with a much more crypto-friendly regulatory approach emerging. We’ve been in ongoing discussions with the SEC and are optimistic about the future. These conversations pave the way for us to not only restart our partnerships with the major U.S. leagues but also explore the exciting potential of introducing Fan Tokens to American sports fans. Our vision is to provide U.S. fans with the same level of engagement, rewards, and experiences that have captivated audiences globally.



3. Are there any upcoming partnerships related to Fan Tokens ahead of next year’s World Cup? Will the new tokens follow a similar structure, or are there plans to introduce changes in areas like token launches, tokenomics, or other features?



Yes, there are a batch of national teams are in the pipeline, we can’t disclose which ones for now, but feel free to have a guess :)) and we’ve launched a Locker-room feature on Socios.com, where you can stake $CHZ with an early opportunity to have access to the national team’s fan tokens .


Looking ahead, we are definitely reviewing internally of how we can do better with Fan Token launch and the tokenomics, for example, we could do an elastic model that dynamically adapts to a team’s real-time performance.


This means Fan Tokens will create a closer connection between the fans, their tokens, and their teams’ success. We can’t share too many details for now, stay tuned the detailed announcement and see how we elevate the Fan Token experience to the next level.




4. How is Chiliz leveraging major global sports events—such as the World Cup, continental tournaments, or club championships—to drive ecosystem growth and increase fan token adoption?



Our strategy for major global sports events, like the World Cup, Champions League, Serie A, and Ligue 1, focuses on two key audience types: mainstream sports fans and crypto enthusiasts.


Fan Engagement for Mainstream Sports Fans:


We are actively working to expand our presence in the Web3 fan engagement space by forging partnerships with more sports teams, particularly to build more partnerships with national football teams, with the upcoming World Cup in mind.


For major league and cup competitions, we host ongoing fan engagement activities. This involves giving fans a voice through voting on team decisions and rewarding token holders and stakers with valuable rewards. These rewards can include merchandise, VIP tickets, and unique experiences like meet & greets or even playing on the pitch.


Campaigns for Crypto Traders:


To appeal to the crypto trading community, we regularly launch tailored campaigns. A common example is hosting derby trading campaigns with exchange partners (where Fan Tokens are listed) when two partner teams face off. These campaigns reward the top traders. We are keen to launch similar initiatives with OKX in the near future.




5. What technical advantages does Chiliz Chain have compared to other blockchains, especially for sports-focused use cases?



While technically a fork of BNB Chain—meaning we haven't reinvented the core technology—we differentiate ourselves as the Sports Blockchain by integrating unique sports elements.


For example, we've pioneered the inclusion of sports teams in blockchain infrastructure, with Paris Saint-Germain football club currently operating one of our validator nodes. We plan to expand this initiative by opening more validator seats to other football clubs, a world-first in the industry.


On the other hand, one of our significant advantages lies in being the only blockchain platform that partners with over 70 leading sports IPs globally. This offers immense value to builders looking to collaborate with clubs, as we can leverage our resources and existing relationships to help them establish trust with those organizations.




6. How is Chiliz expanding real-world utility for fan tokens beyond voting and engagement features?



Fan Tokens aren't just about polls and likes—they're evolving into the Swiss Army knife of sports fandom. After seven years of grinding, we're laser-focused on layering in utilities that go way beyond the voting booth, making tokens the gateway to a full-on fan economy.


We rolled out Fan Token Staking in the Socios.com Wallet back in February '25, and it's a game-changer. Lock up your $PSG or $JUV tokens in smart contracts, and boom—you could earn daily Reward Points from a dedicated pool. Those points? Redeem 'em for signed merch, match tickets, or even VIP meet-and-greets that get you pitch-side.


As the launch of Chiliz Chain, the ecosystem is turning more and more permissionless, we’re also allowing 3rd party devs to bring utilities to Fan Tokens as well to unlock the full potentiality of the SportiFi playground.


We're also embedding Fan Tokens right into club apps and sites—no more app-hopping. Atlético de Madrid kicked this off in May '24 (and scaled it in '25), letting $ATM holders unlock discounts on official merch, priority ticketing, and bundled experiences straight from the club's ecosystem.


Also speaking of a buzzword we always here nowadays - RWA, we're partnering with Assetera (announced November '25) to tokenize sports assets , with Fan Tokens as the entry key.


Add in our OG Esports merger (September '25), we start to have the freedom to explore more about how $OG tokens can power fans. The token will start to showcase how fan assets can evolve – serving as the blockchain layer for tickets, merchandise, in-stadium perks, and digital content, while also integrating real-world assets and club revenues to deliver deeper influence and tangible value to supporters.




7. How does Chiliz approach onboarding new sports clubs and partners, and what challenges do you face when introducing them to Web3?



When we initially presented our innovative proposition to these clubs, the response varied significantly. A subset of clubs showed immediate enthusiasm and "clicked" with the concept. These teams were typically showing a more open-minded and progressive management philosophy. Crucially, they recognized an intrinsic need to both diversify their existing revenue streams and discover novel, more interactive ways to engage with their global fan bases, thereby deepening their understanding of fan demographics and behavior.


Conversely, for other major clubs, the process required a greater commitment to education and persuasion. Overcoming initial skepticism and explaining the complexities and benefits of the Web3 space took time and tailored effort. However, the overall landscape has shifted dramatically in recent years. The increasing visibility of high-profile Web3 sponsorships within the sports world—such as the prominent partnership between OKX and the McLaren Formula 1 team—has also served as a powerful catalyst. These successful, tangible examples have significantly accelerated the learning curve for sports organizations, leading to a much broader and deeper internal understanding and acceptance of Web3 technologies and their commercial potential.




8. What opportunities does Chiliz Chain offer to developers, and what support or tools are available for builders who want to create on the ecosystem?



Currently on Chiliz Chain we are providing a basket of benefits for developers to build on the chain.


AWS credits - We've partnered with AWS to provide cloud credits to selected projects.


Full-scale marketing support - for qualified projects we provide full-scale marketing support, we will try to cover all the channels and maximise the exposure for the projects.


Demo Day - we organise Demo Day on a regular basis to help promote the projects to Chiliz community, and in special cases, to club officials and investors.


Investment & Grant - High-performing projects in the Chiliz ecosystem may be considered for investment or grant opportunities to accelerate growth and development, including grants from 3rd party accelerator programs.


Media & Community Collaborations - Amplify your project's reach through collaborative content and community engagement initiatives with the Chiliz team and ecosystem partners.

9. How does Chiliz ensure user and partner security across fan token issuance, transactions, and platform interactions?



If fans and clubs don’t feel 100 % safe, the whole SportFi dream collapses. So we don’t expect us to cut corners on security — we obsess over it.


Here’s how we actually keep everything locked down in practice:

Fan Token Issuance


  1. Every single Fan Token ($PSG, $JUV, $CITY, you name it) is minted through  audited CAP-20 smart-contract templates. We run them through Certik and Halborn before anything goes live, and we run active bug-bounty programs as well.


Governance & Transactions


  1. Chiliz Chain is Proof-of-Staked-Authority with 11 heavyweight validators right now — PSG, Animoca Brands, Paribu, SBI, and even OKX yourself… every validator stakes millions in $CHZ on guarding the network.


Platform & Everyday Interactions


2. In recent years, to build the trust among our community and users, we have upgraded our official Web3 wallet app Socios.com as a non-custodian wallet. Your keys, your tokens. Also we highly value regulatory requirements and obtain the licenses where needed. For example Socios is fully licensed under MiCA in Malta with all the boring-but-important EU consumer protections.





10. What is Chiliz’s long-term vision for the future of sports engagement on blockchain over the next 3–5 years?


We would envision a fully decentralized "sports blockchain" ecosystem where blockchain redefines fan engagement as an active, monetizable, and globally inclusive experience.


And this evolution will position fan tokens into a core asset class—akin to digital membership programs—driving institutional adoption. The goal is to onboard hundreds of sports brands as validators, achieving complete sector decentralization and network effects that make Chiliz the default infrastructure for SportFi.


Fans will transition from spectators to stakeholders via enhanced fan tokens integrated directly into club apps and websites. Expect expanded features like AI-powered loyalty points, VIP activations (e.g., speaker roles, photo shoots), and polls influencing 20,000+ decisions annually. This creates "Web 2.5" communities with real-world impact, rewarding engagement in perks and turning global fans into revenue-generating "clients" for clubs.


From a Tokenomics perspective, it will also gradually shift to inflationary models, with RWAs (e.g., tokenized esports assets) adding liquidity.


Ultimately, we will see blockchain enable clubs to own fan data, foster two-way loyalty, and monetize passion at scale—delivering "proven utility" over hype, with Chiliz as the enabler of a fan-owned sports future.
