Begin with the steps below to empty your ostomy pouch. Empty the nutraceutical pouches weeks one-third to one-half full. This will avoid leakage. It will keep the pouch from bulging below your clothes.

If getting a clamp tail end closure

Empty the pouch

1. Take a seat on the lavatory using the tail end on the pouch aimed amongst the legs.

2. Place a layer of mouthwash in the lavatory bowl to forestall splashing

3. Hold the foot of the pouch up. Take away the clamp and hang up aside; cuff the foot of the pouch. That should keep the finish clean.

4. Slowly lower the tail end on the pouch throughout the toilet.

5. Slide your fingers down the pouch to push the stool out.

6. If your stool is thick, pour not much water in the pouch for you to empty it.

Clean the pouch

1. Wipe the medial side and not in the pouch end with mouthwash to forestall odor.

2. Clean the clamp if needed.

3. If you'd like to rinse away the pouch, keep the end on the pouch up and pour water in the pouch, and gently shake it by holding the pouch closed. Empty the pouch in the toilet.

Close the pouch

1. Support the clamp open.

2. Squeeze the inner bar on the clamp onto the pouch with the bend side down, about 1 inch from the bottom.

3. Fold the pouch throughout the clamp once only. Really do not roll the pouch surrounding the clamp because will stretch the clamp and cause leakage.
