I liked this anime very much and while the story is a little weak it is a nice and fun anime for all ages. If you are a fan of the odd and kooky this anime is for you.

Wild, zaney, lots of fun. Comedy Komugi, a 17 year old cosplay idol becomes a rabit eared, syring riding, magical nurse witch, aka magical girl batteling the viruses of Ungrar and the evil cat eared magical maid Koyori, her best friend in disguise. Fun, good music. Disk 1, Episodes 1, 2
Sesho Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2006
The evil life force Ungrar is secretly planning to conquer the Earth by unleashing some particularly nasty viruses upon the people of the planet. The Goddess of the Vaccine World, Maya, has sent her helper, a talking rabbit named Mugimuri (who actually looks more like a beachball) to give a special human magical powers to confront and destroy the viruses. Perhaps Mugimaru doesn't make the best choice when he gives the power to Komugi Nakahara, 17 year-old flat chested semi-popular cosplay idol who's trying to branch into singing and acting. Unfortunately for her, she has more spirit than talent, and she's constantly being hated on by her manager and other idols like Megu, whose only claim to fame is being a centerfold idol for old perverts. Komugi also has to deal with a magical girl on Ungrar's side who flies around on what looks to be a giant banana fudge sundae, glass saucer and all! And Komugi is so dumb that she doesn't even recognize her as Koyori, her friend and classmate who is also an idol. Nurse Wich Komugi was a pretty funny disk, even though it included only 2.5 episodes with the last bonus episode composed mainly of music videos of the characters singing. The first two episodes were worth the cost of the volume I guess. Seeing the Big Site where the big comic conventions take place turn into a giant robot made me laugh a lot, plus there is a spoof of Gatchaman that only hit a glancing blow on its potential hilarity. For the most part the humor was funny and the Japanese voice actors did great. This volume also included a funny but informative documentary on how an anime is made, narrated by a stuffed doll of Mugimaru. I would also recommend Excel Saga.

This show is purely hilarious. I've only seen one episode of the show thus far and I'm not clear on all the names, but it's pure slap-stick genius. Komugi is a pop-star, cosplay, super nurse, savior of the world. Fighting her evil yet well developed counter-part and rival Hikki/Koyori. This show is funny for it's rather original comedic ideas such as overly ranting comic fans who've gone wild, transforming buildings in full blown power rangers fashion, and chicks who are actually willing to compete over who can give the most fan service. The character designs are real cute and the highlights and color of the show are luscious. Also they truly know when to make the art style look reasonably sensible and then unbelievably ridiculous. As for the voice acting to me it wasn't bad at all. No one was screaming every five seconds at the top of their lungs so you couldn't understand a damn thing they were saying. The story itself is quite cute and enjoyable. The parodies in this show are pretty good too, because so far they haven't done parodies of the same old stuff that everyone does. i.e. Gundam, Evangelion, Dragon Ball Z. I mean they have power rangers (which is used yes, but always cool ), G-Force , and Samurai Pizza Cats, which is a show which aired for like 2 weeks, but it was so good that it's laughable. When it comes to the Characters, you couldn't do a better job for a comedy. I mean you have the cute and lovable Mugi who loves her fans, does what she wants, and honestly doesn't care about who her enemy is, what they have to say, or what they're after. Also Koyori who seems how to set new standards for "busting" into show biz, the cautious yet lecherous Mugimaru ( Mugi's companion ), Mugi's agent who's a witty guy with an awfully short fuse and fowl mouth for such a calm person, they're boss who's a rather nice women with no patience for failure, and plenty of others who I don't want to list because it's too hard without knowing their names. Bottom line this show is definitley worth checking out. If you've read this review all the way through then you all know the details I've given you thus far are only from the first episode. So if this keeps up in future ones then this show is a must have to any collection. Also I've never found a show so relaxing with all this comedy. So check out Komugi in action, I'm sure you'll like it. Hope this review was helpful.

Nurse Witch Komugi is definately the opposite of SoulTaker, a dark and creepy anime series. Komugi debuted in SoulTaker. She was cute then and she's even cuter now. Thankfully, she finally got her own show, and here it is! I've seen it more then enough times and I highly reccomend it to anyone who likes anime, especially those that are fans of comedy. Komugi is the cosplay idol everyone loves and if you liked SoulTaker, you'll definately like this. Even though Mugimugi is in Soultaker,it's not necessary to watch SoulTaker to understand Nurse Witch Komugi-chan. This has it's own storyline and even though many of the characters are originally from Soultaker, this anime is its own series, with its own storyline. I loved these episodes, and definately reccommend it to anyone. Please watch Komugi-chan!

[This review contains minor spoilers.]
I am glad that I watched this.
I would probably recommend this to others.
I have watched this once, subtitled. This is the only season that I've watched.
I may watch this again.

---- Positives ----

The characters are pleasantly straightforward.
They all have certain unique personalities - these personalities aren't simple, but they're demonstrated rather quickly and beyond that point, there aren't any surprises. I consider it difficult for a series to maintain interesting characters that don't change over the course of the series. In order to remain interesting, a series constantly needs to introduce interesting situations and character interactions, since the characters themselves don't change.
...
This series does those things well.

The characters are all voiced well, even the supporting characters.
Of particular note is Komugi, who is voiced extremely well for her character.

The art is great and the animations are sharp.
Art throughout the series is good, and the style of animations can be pleasantly sharp at times, especially in scenes involving Komugi. The OP demonstrates these two points well.

The 3D scenes are excellent.
There are a few 3D idol performance scenes in this series. They all look really good. The frame-rate is good, the motions are smooth, and the models are high-quality and colorful. The only other series that I've seen as of 2016 with equally excellent 3D scenes is Etotama. Having this level of 3D in a series at this point is rare. The only slight negative is that the character motions and clothing reactions seem a little ~too~ smooth at times, but this is vastly preferable to motions being too sharp.

Every episode is interesting.
Assuming that you enjoy the series, each episode is entertaining.

---- Negatives ----

The magical girl aspect doesn't go too far.
Some of the characters in this series become magical girls. Many scenes revolve around this aspect of the series, but within that magical girl aspect, there isn't much going on - it's just there to enhance the non-magical-girl aspects of the series. When they're magical girls, they have magical creature assistants who prompt them to fight enemies to gather cards. There isn't any drive during the series to gather these cards - it's just something that they have to do whenever an enemy appears. Komugi in particular demonstrates a laid-back approach to gathering these cards, and goes as far as to offer one of them to her [supposed-to-be-]rival at one point [EP7]. The enemies aren't working together and they only ever show up one at a time, and they're simply defeated.
Opportunity for cancel: Yes. If there was a series-long main enemy or motivation, it would have detracted from the non-magical-girl aspects of the series, which were interesting and done well and wouldn't have been as good if they had focus taken away. The focus in this series was chosen well, and the magical girl aspect just wasn't it, as a deliberate choice.

The magical girl transformation sequences could have been a little better.
The transformation sequences were good, but not stellar. The incantations were amusing, though.
Opportunity for cancel: Eventually, yes. There are a few genres that have come to be associated with transformation sequences, and one of those is the magical girl genre. If it weren't for that expectation level, I wouldn't have said anything on this point - the transformation sequences are good. It's just that my expectation level here was high and the scenes were right on the line between being good and being mediocre.

The romance could have been just a tad more developed.
The romance that plays out does so acceptably. There were clues at multiple points in the series, but the clues could have been just a little more symmetrical. We find out a lot about one side but not the other.
Opportunity for cancel: No, but this negative doesn't impact the series that much.

NOTE: This MAY contain spoilers!

Story 7/10: I always enjoy a good anime that has the nostalgic feeling of magical girl animes. It cute and fun to watch. It's great to see how the characters balance their daily lives while battling monsters.
