My name is Tina Reaves, RN. This is my first year at Bellamy! It's my goal to help keep your children healthy and safe in order to promote an optimal learning environment. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to call or email me. Let's have a great year Eagles!
Let's make this year the best and healthiest yet!! I wanted to give you a few beginning of year school health announcements:
★ Due by September 27 at the latest.
★ Please turn them as soon as possible to allow time for records to be reviewed.
★ These are required for the following:
★ New students transferring to Bellmay from out of state
★ New students transferring to Bellmay from a private school in North Carolina
★ In order to be valid, the NC Health Assessment needs to be based off a current physical exam that was performed no more than a year ago from the start of school by a medical provider.
★ Students are required to be incompliance with the CDC vaccine schedule
★ Acceptable alternatives include presenting valid medical or religious exemption letters.
★ Failure to comply with these items may result in consequences at school per NHCS Policy 8212, Article 18, and NC Public Schools Administrative Code .
★ Please DO NOT send medications to school with your student (unless a self carry order is on file).
★ All medications require appropriate documentation and a parent signature upon check in with the nurse.
★ Prescription medications must be in the original container with a pharmacy label attached.
★ Over the counter medications to be used at school must be in an unopened container, labeled children’s strength when able.

With frightening regularity, teacher sex scandals seem to surface in the age of social media. Here are three teacher sexual abuse cases involving teachers from San Diego, Ohio and Oklahoma.

A former elementary school nurse from Missouri has taken a plea deal and admitted to statutory raping a student several times, whom she offered $2K to stay quiet.
Tina Maria Sumner, 47, pleaded guilty Friday, August 9, to two counts of statutory rape and one count of victim tampering in a plea deal, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Now, a judge has to decide whether or not the former school nurse will spend seven years behind bars. She will definitely be serving a five-year probation term for pleading guilty to victim tampering in the case, the newspaper reports.
If the case had gone to trial, Sumner could have faced a maximum of 17 years behind bars.
Sumner was arrested on the charges in 2017. She immediately resigned from Fox Elementary School in Arnold following the arrest.
The former nurse had sex with the student at least eight times between 2015 and 2018, according to a probable cause statement from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office obtained by KSDK in St. Louis. The incidents occurred at Sumner’s home, the victim’s home, and at a Fox School District building.
It’s not clear how old the victim was.
After the 2017 arrest, the victim claimed Sumner offered him $2,000 to pay off his car. A copy of a check reportedly confirmed he received that money.
Sumner was named the top school nurse by the Jefferson County Association of School Nurses in 2005, according to the New York Post. She first started working at the school in 1999, the Jefferson County Leader reports .
