In 1997 Lokman Hekim Esnaf Hospital, which is located in Fethiye on the Mediterranean Coast of South West Turkey, began as a small Polyclinic created as a partnership between the Chamber of Artists and Artisans, the Chamber of Drivers and Automobiles and Lokman Hekim Inc. We have continued to provide services from our new premises since 2012.

On an area of 9000m2 our complex provides international service with highly trained and experienced staff combined with advanced medical technology. We offer a wide range of treatments from surgery to rehabilitation, from dermatology to psychiatry. Within the hospital there are 50 Consultants offering treatments within 22 areas of medicine. We have 6 beds in our general intensive care unit, 4 beds in our coronary intensive care unit, 5 beds in our neonatal intensive care unit and 93 patient beds giving a total bed capacity of 108.
Besides our highly trained Consultants we have roughly 420 front line nurses and medical staff. You will find patients from across Turkey and abroad who come for diagnosis and treatment. The staff of the Foreign Patient Department helps both inpatients and outpatients in any way needed including translating for doctors and nurses, especially at twice-daily ward rounds, and liaising with foreign insurance companies wherever policies allow a direct claim from the hospital. The staff of the department is provided by the hospital expressly to assist any non-Turkish patients whether they are on holiday or living locally. English, Russian, German, French, Dutch and Romanian are spoken. The department provides a full team and a 24 hour service.

Due to the architectural structure of our building, commitment to patient care and out continued performance we were accredited with the international TUVCERT ISO certificate.
Our specialist surgeons perform a full range of standard surgeries and diagnostics including endoscopy, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and bariatric (obesity) surgery. Our Bariatric clinic combines several different areas of medicine such as Dietician and Psychiatry. Patients can come directly to our Diet Polyclinic or can be referred by other branches. Our Specialist will establish your nutritional history, evaluate lab results, perform anthropometric measurements and a body analysis (measuring a patient’s body fat, fluid, muscle etc.) A personalized nutrition program is prepared and followed up with the patients. In our policlinic we provide nutritional support for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases and malnutrition for all ages from infants until adulthood.
Our esteemed Plastic Surgeon is not just successful with his cosmetic patients; reconstructive surgery is also a large part of his duties. We provide even the most basic of procedures such as injections and other non invasive cosmetic techniques, all the way up to larger plastic surgeries, tissue transplants and microsurgery.
Had my gallbladder removed by Baris Gurcu from meeting to operation and post op . He was excellent , efficient, professional and would highly recommend him. I have a hospital phobia and avoided a cholecystectomy due to my fear and lack of faith in English nhs I can say Dr Gurcu and Esnaf hospital he has given me it back. The hospital and nursing staff excellent and out English hospitals could learn from how professional quick and efficient this hospital is. I will highly recommend this hospital to everyone .After my long investigations I choose Specialist Dr Ahmet Kemal Ertuna for my forth hernia operation. My last operation was on Australia Sydney’s one of the best private hospital, Operation took 11 hours and with complications I was nearly not survive from this operation. Cost of operation was $76,000 from my insurance plus $5,000 from my pocket. Mr. Ertuna fix my existing hernia problems and another hernia in 5 hours, he done very good operation with his extensive 42 years experience. I am thankful to him and all hospital staff.

I underwent upper eyelid surgery. I initially made contact via WhatsApp after being recommended to the hospital by a former client. I had long conversations with Bora about the procedure, in English and arranged an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I met Batu who became my chaperone and interpreter. The hospital itself was modern and very clean. I met with Rita Inan Kocaarslan the surgeon and following the consultation I booked my operation. As I have many medical issues the Dr insisted on additional tests along with the usual blood, ECG and chest X-ray. Additionally, I had to see an internal medicine consultant, who went through my medical history and medication and after ordering additional blood tests gave the go-ahead. As a precaution, I was told that they would keep me in overnight just to keep an eye on me. On the day of the operation, I was again met by Batu and I was admitted and shown to my room which had TV, fridge comfortable sofa and en-suite bathroom. The operation all went very smoothly and afterwards I received excellent care from the nursing staff. Even though I couldn’t eat they provided food and drink for my daughter. For the additional tests and Dr consultation, I was charged £113.76 extra but was not charged for my overnight stay and care which I think this is very reasonable. On discharge, I was given multiple prescription items to help with my recovery. After discharge, I was given an appointment to see the surgeon to be followed up and given my fit to fly certificate. I didn’t have any problems and it all went to plan and I flew home. I had my stitches removed at my GP's and the nurse commented on the good job that the surgeon had done. My recovery is continuing and I have had contact with Bora via WhatsApp since I returned and he checks how I am progressing. I highly recommend this hospital/surgeon and the whole team and if I had any further procedures I would undoubtedly use them again.

It is now 3 weeks since I had upper eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) to remove excess skin. If I am completely honest the Esnaf wasn't my first choice to have this procedure done, however since my initial contact to Bora to his follow up email 3 weeks after my actual operation I am completed happy with my final choice. Quality service throughout. The Esnaf hospital was wonderfully clean, very efficient with super staff, in particular, Batuhan Kortan who escorted and explained everything to me throughout my stay. As I said before I am 3 weeks post-op now from upper eyelid surgery carried out by Dr Riza Inan Kocaarslan and the results are already fantastic. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Dr Kocaarslan fully explained the procedure to me, what to expect re healing times, answered all questions fully with patience and professionalism. He put me at ease, had the assurance of somebody who knows their stuff and who will give me the results I desired. As expected, I did have a lot of bruising and swelling around my eyes as I had been in a fight, the pain was minimal throughout, just felt tired for the rest of that day and a tightness above the eyes for about two weeks. I felt well enough to fly back to UK the following day after surgery (lots of looks from fellow travellers though). Today, I was questioned about my age after asking for a discounted rate for OAPs. "A result." Although not the cheapest option the professionalism and results I experienced from the Private Lokman Hekim ESNAF Hospital and their staff was truly wonderful. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hospital.

The simplest method to help lose weight is the gastric balloon treatment. A balloon filled with liquid or air is placed inside the stomach with the help of an endoscope. You will be sedated for the procedure. All the procedure takes up to 15 - 20 minutes. The capacity of nutritional intake is reduced and intragastric balloon slows down the time it takes to empty the stomach and it seems to change the levels of hormones that control appetite. Doing so, the patient can lose up to 7-8 kilograms of excess weight a month. An overall weight loss between 8 - 40 kilograms is expected. However, the very same gastric balloon can stay inside the stomach between 6 months to 1 year and can be easily extracted via endoscope in 5-6 minutes. Despite the fact the operation is easy to perform and there is no permanent change on the body, it is easy to regain weight unless the patient changes his / her way of life and carry on with the necessary diet. Patients can have an idea as to what to and how to eat following 6 months to 1 year after the operation.
Sleeve Gastrectomy is a simpler, more effective surgical weight-loss procedure, used in obesity treatment. During sleeve gastrectomy, about 80% of the stomach is removed, leaving a tube-shaped stomach, about the size and shape of a banana. This surgery is typically performed laparoscopically (closed) and it takes about 1-2 hours. Depending on your recovery, your hospital stay may last one to two nights. You may also need to prepare planning ahead for your recovery after surgery. People who have a sleeve gastrectromy are typically off work for four weeks.
Op. Dr. Barış Gürcü was born in 1977 in Denizli where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2001. In 2008, he completed his specialist training as a General Surgeon at the same University. He completed his training at Gazi University, Kafkas University and Ege University Endoscopy Centres, receiving certification in upper and lower gastrointestinal interventions. Since 2011, he has began performing gastric balloon application to combat obesity.

Between September 2008 and November 2009, he worked for Kağızman State Hospital as a General Surgeon and as Head Physician. Between 2010 and 2013, he performed these same roles at other private hospitals. In 2013 he spent eight months increasing his experience working as a fellowship under Prof.Dr. Ahmet Çoker and Prof.Dr. Selman Sökmen. He has published numerous national and international articles and studies.

Since August 2014 he has worked at Lokman Hekim Esnaf Hospital. He is married with one son and one daughter

He was born in Kirkuk, in 1960. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Bagdat. He graduated from Istanbul Çapa Faculty of Medicine, in 1985. In 1991, he received his expertise in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the same faculty. Between 1993 and 1996, he served as the Founding President of Trakya University Edirne Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He continued his duty at Çanakkale State Hospital between 1996 and 2015. He worked in a private hospital between 2015-2020. He is a member of the Turkish Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association and has 20 experimental and clinical studies published in national and international scientific journals. He speaks fluent English and Arabic.
