All the features and accessories you'd want in a travel system, with a car seat that can last to 18 months. A very smooth ride from the pushchair, though it doesn't look as comfortable as some others

When buying a travel system, practicality and value for money are high up on the list of wants. The Nurse Dakar Duplo travel system offers both in abundance, and is certainly worth a look.
Based on the popular Jané Powertrack 360, the Nurse Dakar is crammed with features and accessories, and combined with the Nurse Duplo car seat that’s both a carrycot and a car seat you can’t really beat it for value.
The 3-wheel pushchair itself is extremely lightweight and has a lockable front swivel wheel that makes for very easy turning. There’s inflatable aluminium wheels, a height adjustable handle, multi-position reclining seat with a unique pulley system, quick release wheels and an adjustable rear suspension depending on the terrain.
And don’t forget the accessories! With a basket, pump, 3 in 1 foot muff, pram bag and raincover included you’re ready for any situation.
The Nurse Dakar is available in four combination: as just a 3-wheeler pushchair, or with a choice of three car seats. The Duplo is one of these options, and starting out as a carrycot for those early days when lying flat is recommended, it converts effortlessly into a rearward facing car seat that lasts until 18 months.
The Dakar as a pushchair is very simple to use. It folds down without difficulty and the wheels are easy to remove, which was great for our holiday when we needed the space for our luggage.
One thing I really like about the Nurse Dakar is how it moves across bumpy roads and fields. My daughter Tippi can be a light sleeper but I needn’t worry when pushing her round in this pushchair. Its inflatable wheels with ball bearings to optimise turning and pushing means it glides and moves over cobbled streets and parkland without much effort and minimal disruption. The added adjustable rear suspension is a great help.
We tried the Duplo car seat with the Dakar to turn it into a travel system. We loved how easy it transformed from a carrycot into a car seat. Simply pull a lever and it’s done – two seats for the price of one. The carrycot is quite inviting, the material feels a lot more padded than the pushchair and my friend’s 1-month-old baby looks very cosy in it. As it’s recommended by health officials that newborn babies lie completely flat it’s great to have this as an option. The Duplo as a rear facing car seat is also very comfortable and Tippi seems happy in there. Said to last up to 18 months, this adds again to the Nurse Dakar Duplo travel system’s great value.
The Dakar pushchair doesn’t look that comfortable. It isn’t very well padded, and the strap pads slide too easily up and down the straps. I found this didn’t give the right support to Tippi. Along with the slightly fiddly harness that means a smaller baby can slip down in the seat, this could be better.
Using the Duplo car seat in its lie-down form is secure but it can slide around on the back seat. I personally would rather use it as a rearward facing car seat from the start, and use the carrycot for my baby to sleep in when visiting.
Finally, if you have a small car, you might want to check the Nurse Dakar fits. Even though it does fold down quite small, it’s a wide pushchair
Mums with bigger cars who want value for money and a rear facing car seat with a longer life.
A very good travel system that’s crammed with features and accessories to make your life simple. The Nurse Dakar Duplo travel system is easy to use, offers a smooth ride but as a pushchair it doesn’t offer the most comfortable seat. The versatile Duplo carrycot that turns into a rearward facing car seat makes it great value.
3wheel chassis with lockable front swivel wheel Quick release wheels Removable bumper bar and hood and sun canopy Pneumatic inflatable tyres Height adjustable handle multi-position reclining seat Adjustable rear suspension Car seat that can be used as a lie-flat option then rearward facing to 18 months

great pushchair and dependable. Recommend it.

The Travel System has been a Godsend!! Having grandparents in both UK and orsthwent of Norway needless to say we have travelled alot with our little one since he was born in May 09. The prampack has been in Spain, Uk several times and c5lesund several times. It has enabled us to bring ALOT of luggage we normally would have had to pay for, like blankets, toys etc. It is not recommended to fill the prampack with other things, but it's hard to resist. ;) Most of the journeys have gone really well. Once we travelled through Frankfurt a small piece broke on the buggy though, luckily not a crucial part. But I must say, They handle luggage very roughly in Frankfurt, I have travelled through there before, so it wasnt down to the pram. that can happen. All in all the Pram has been brilliant for us and I strongly recommend it!! :) I thought it was expensive at first but because we were going to travel all the time it was worth every penny. :)

Hi Lisa, the seat unit reclines greater than 150 degrees which according to British standards means it is suitable from birth. However, according to European regulations, all pushchairs are not recommended from birth, they recommend the use of a carrycot or car seat from birth.
Because the Dakar Pro is made by a European manufacturer, Nurse (Spanish), there may be labels on the seat unit recommending this.
There is optional carrycot and piccola pro infant car seats available to match if you are interested. Also if you buy the complete package, known as the Dakar Pro Formula, it is also cheaper as a package.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Steve.

Hi Lisa,
The new Nurse pushchairs bearing the "PRO" name would need to be used with pro series car seats. The older Nurse models from last year and before were not "pro" generation so older car seats like the Piccola, Duplo and normal Capazo would not be compatable unfortunately. There if you would like to use a carrycot with this new Nurse Dakar Pro you can purchase the Formula system:
http://www.samueljohnston.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=749
This would come complete with a matching capazo Pro and a matching Piccola Pro for complete flexibility in a travel system.

An alternative would be that you could use any Jane Pro car seat, as these use the same fittings as the Nurse Pro seats do. (Jane actually owns the Nurse company so they decided to make the car seats interchangable).

If you already have a Nurse Capazo non-pro carrycot then sadly this will not be compatible, and there arent any fitting kits, converters or adaptors available to make these fit either sadly.

I hope thats been some help, but if you have any further questions please feel free to ask!

Kind regards,
Samuel Johnston ltd.

Great travel system. The website is so easy to use and plenty of brands to choose from, I will definitely recommend to others!

Received this travel system from Samuel Johnson over the internet and I'm extremely impressed with the purchase. Pram was delivered very quickly. I spent some time discovering how the pram and its different travel options work and found it all straight forward and easy to assemble/disassemble. We went for the can-can colour way and it is really really smart, looks great. Originaly I was going to buy a Jane cross reverse matrix pram but after seeing this system and all that is included for the price I'm very glad I purchased this one instead. Probably the only small negative is the size of the shopping basket underneath, its not huge but will no doubt be big enough for quick trips to market/shops.

Does the Capazo carrycot need special fixing for in the car or does it fit with the usual adult seatbelt as the carseat does?

Is it possible to have the shopping basket on the frame when the carrycot is in use on the frame? I notice that it isn't shown in either picture of both colourways.

Hi Rachael,
The Capazo carrycot doesn't need any special fixings, it already has fixings/clasps on the head and foot end of the carrycot. These clasps are where the adult seat belt of your car attaches to the carrycot. They loop through these clasps and then you tighten the seat belt until the carrycot is firmly in place. Additionally, the baby is then secured inside the carrycot with a velcro type body harness that will then keep the baby securely harnessed inside the carrycot in case of an accident.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Steve.

Hi Leanne,
You can leave the basket on the chassis all the time, even with the carrycot attached, as most people will. They have some pictures shown without the basket because it is normally an optional accessory (however, we included it free in our package).
regards
Steve
