Naturists on one of Britain's most popular nudist beaches fear they are being spied on by a voyeur flying a drone.
A number of naked sunbathers were left angry when they were buzzed by a radio-controlled drone that flew up and down the famous Studland nudist beach in Dorset.
They feared a camera was attached to the device and that the operator, who could not be seen, had the bare cheek to take some shots of the bathers in a state of complete undress.

Officials are looking into the matter and have stepped up patrols in case the drone operator returns.
A member of the Studland United Nudist group said: 'Several naturists heard and saw a drone fly over the naturist area including families who are concerned about this new invasion of their privacy and the possible subsequent use of any photographic material that may have been taken.
'The machine went along the whole stretch of Studland so the owner could not be identified. For obvious reasons, naturists need to know who it was.'
Studland nudist beach is a public space but the users enjoy some privacy as it is obscured by sand dunes on one side and has the sea on the other.
There are plenty of signs warning members of the public about naturists being seen on the approaches either side of the designated bathing area.

But an overhead drone with a camera on board flying relatively low in the sky is a modern phenomenon the nudists did not expect to contend with.
A spokesman for the National Trust, which owns the beach, said they were concerned about the drone allegations and insisted that any requests for photography had to go through them first.
Jon Bish, from the trust, said: 'The flying of drones over National Trust land is not allowed without permission - which was not sought or given on this occasion.
'We would ask anyone who witnesses an incident of this kind at Studland to speak to a beach ranger or contact us so that we can take action.'
The National Trust insists requests to fly drones on their land are only approved where the operator is accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and has CAA permission to undertake aerial work in the UK and sufficient insurance.
Mr Bish explained: 'We also require drone operators to identify themselves, use signage to make the public aware that filming is taking place and to respect the privacy of our visitors.'

There are so many interesting camps to send the kids to for part of the summer.

( Mental Floss ) -- All a summer camp used to need to keep kids entertained throughout the warmer months was a good ball field and a place to go swimming. Now, though, campers can while away their summer days doing all sorts of specialized camping.
Let's take a look at some camps that appeal to kids with very specific interests.
Finally, there's a solution for kids who don't want to leave their role-playing games for a week at camp: a camp that is one big RPG. At Charlton, Massachusetts' Wizards and Warriors Camp, campers create their own characters and then spend their days fighting together against villains and searching for treasure.
The camp sounds like it integrates educational elements into the fun -- a potions-making class provides real-world lessons on chemistry -- all while giving children a valuable opportunity to mingle with trolls.
Since the early 1990s, the American Association for Nude Recreation has offered summer Youth Leadership Camps at various resorts around the country in order to let young people ages 11 to 18 enjoy some nude summer camp fun.
While the notion of a camp full of naked teenagers may strike non-nudists as a bit strange (or completely appalling), a 2003 New York Times profile detailed how the camps were perfectly legal because the nudity wasn't of a lewd nature. (The camps go to great lengths to desexualize the nudity in an effort to combat the teens' surging hormones.)
The result: camps where teens go to enjoy mundane activities like sports and arts and crafts, all while in the buff. The clothes-free policy certainly must make packing for camp easier.
California's Pali Overnight Adventures offers a number of camps for the show-biz hopeful, but their Hollywood Stunt Camp sounds like it would be particularly fun. Campers spend either one of two weeks working with real Hollywood stuntmen on topics like taking a high fall, simulating hand-to-hand combat, and sword fighting. (Seems like a good idea. Kids are inevitably going to sword fight, so you might as well make it safe.)
The two-week program even culminates with campers taking a 32-foot fall and directing and choreographing their own stunt spectacular.
If heights and fights aren't your thing, Pali also offers a Movie Makeup Academy where campers work with Hollywood makeup artists to replicate favorite movie characters and even turn themselves into gory ghouls.
Drexel University's LeBow College of Business offers an unusual opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors to get some experience in the fast-paced world of securities trading.
The weeklong Camp XChange lets students act as traders in the school's electronic trading lab and learn the intricacies of the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and other trading floors around the world.
Do your kids want to become the next Indiana Jones? Send them to archaeology camp at Colorado's Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.
The center's three-week Archaeology Field School gives high school students the opportunity to excavate dig sites alongside the pros and help analyze what they find. Campers also get the opportunity to try their hand at many of tasks of the Pueblo Indians they're studying, including starting a fire by hand.
Think your kid might want to be a firefighter? Here's a great way to find out. Junior firefighting camps are available around the country for kids of all ages who want to learn the ins and outs of fighting and preventing fires.
Some, like New Hampshire's Camp Fully Involved, are even more extremely specialized; Camp Fully Involved teaches young women ages 14 to 20 about topics like ventilation, dumpster fires, and forcible entry.
Young Americans Center for Financial Education in Colorado offers a variety of day camp for the (very) young aspiring businessman. The center's offerings include "Running Your Own Biz," a camp for third or fourth graders who are interested in starting their own businesses, and "Be Your Own Boss," which gives fifth and sixth graders the skinny on running their own businesses.
Something's telling us that Colorado's lemonade stands are run more efficiently than those in surrounding states thanks to these camps.
What kid doesn't want to be a secret agent? Camp Lohikan in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains fills this niche by offering Spy Camp. Aspiring James Bonds learn evasive driving maneuvers for ATVs, martial arts, undercover tactics, and code breaking skills.
At the end of the term, campers test their spying acumen by participating in a recon and rescue mission.
The Wizard's Workshop bills itself as the best magic camp in Maine, and since we'd rather not be sawed in half, we won't challenge them.
Professional magicians Phil Smith and Bernard Blais use their day camp to teach kids showmanship, misdirection, and the other tricks of the magic trade. At this camp, every arts and crafts section yields something useful; campers build their own props and then use them in a final show to cap off the week.
If your main beef with summer camp was that it was just too much fun, the Charleston School of Protocol and Etiquette's Civil Savvy Camp for Children will be right up your alley.
Who needs kickball or arts and crafts when you can take part in a weeklong day camp with sessions with titles like, "Handshaking," "Giving and Receiving Compliments," "Posture," and "Poise"? The goal of the camp is to "help children become more self-confident and courteous." This year's camp ended on July 2, but kids, it's not too early to start pestering your parents to sign you up for next year!

Lola Méndez, CNN • Published 16th June 2021
(CNN) — Filled with nerves, I intentionally left my bikini behind before embarking on my first nudist beach experience on the uninhabited Lokrum Island in Croatia.
This was the only way I could be sure that the fear of baring it all in front of strangers wouldn't cause me to back out at the last minute.
After scanning the rocky beach, located on the south-eastern part of the island, I positioned myself on a rock right next to the water so I could dive in to cool off -- or if I felt shy.
As the sun warmed my body, my uneasiness around being naked in public soon melted away with the heat.
Then a boat packed with tourists clutching long lens cameras crept close to the shore. Aghast, I jumped into the ocean, allowing the deep blue sea to shield me from their curious gazes.
Despite this rather unwelcome interruption, my love of nude beaches officially began on that day in 2016, and I was soon seeking them out everywhere I went.
Darcy Tuscano, an educational development consultant who lives within hiking distance of two nude beaches in southern Spain, is also a big fan of the practice.
"It's a wonderful feeling to strip down after a hot hike and run into the sea. It's very invigorating," says Tuscano.
There are hundreds of beaches across the globe where it's legal to sunbathe and/or swim naked.
"My kids are growing up without having any shame of their bodies and they're seeing all types and shapes of bodies proudly displayed with no embarrassment or puritanical 'covering up.'
"Being naked isn't a sexual thing on a beach."
Travel writer Geena Truman believes that nude beaches help to shed societal stigma around nudity.
"I like to get naked as often as possible in nature and love a good nude beach," she says. "It's about freedom and reveling in your body while immersed in nature."
This sentiment is echoed by many others who regularly frequent nudist beaches.
For me, being able to let go of my inhibitions, along with my swimwear, has been a truly liberating experience.
By embracing my natural state and catching some Vitamin D where the sun (usually) doesn't shine, I accept and celebrate my body in all its imperfections.
It's also helped me stop obsessing over my belly rolls, stretch marks, and acne scars. Nude beaches feel like sacred spaces free of judgment.
"I feel genuinely comfortable in my skin and somewhat self-conscious in a bikini," Truman says. "I love how free I feel when I let the sun see my whole self. "
Allison Yates, a study abroad co-ordinator, has also been able to overcome her body insecurities through nude sunbathing.
"Seeing everyone else living life in their bodies, I no longer let my insecurities control me," says Yates.
"I dared to be nude because I was in a new place and knew I'd never see these people again."
For those who've never been to a nudist beach, but feel ready to take the plunge, there are a few important things to take into account in order to ensure the experience is as comfortable as possible.
First, make sure it's legal to be naked in public at the beach, and respect the local laws.
It's also a good idea to seek out a beach that has access to services you may need, including toilets and refreshments. I prefer a nude beach that's situated far away from the non-nudist beaches.
Some have physical barriers to separate the beaches and many are wild, raw beaches away from populous coastal areas.
According to Tuscano, the best nude beaches are off-the-beaten-path "so you don't have other people passing by and gawking."
If you're worried about spectators, go for somewhere like nudist island Ada Bojana in Ulcinj, Montenegro, where clothing is not optional -- everyone is required to be nude.
All types of people enjoy nude beaches. I've seen families, groups of friends, individuals, and couples of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and sexualities enjoying a day in the sun sans swimwear.
Resorts with dedicated nude beaches, such as the Couples in Jamaica, Negril, are a great option for first-timers, as they're protected spaces.
No matter which nude beach you visit, be sure to bring something to sit on, SPF, and appropriate clothing to wear as you come and go.
Don't stare at other sunbathers. Be respectful of everyone around you, and don't publicly engage in sexual activity.
While there are nudist beach clubs and resorts for those looking to party in the buff, the atmosphere at public nude beaches is usually laid back. I often go alone and feel safe doing so, as people tend to mind their own business and leave you to it.
Luckily, Chihuahua, the nude beach in Uruguay where I live, has been open throughout the pandemic. I've spent many lovely days there alone, with LGBT friends, and my former girlfriend.
Ladies Beach in Ulcinj, Montenegro is exclusively for women.
International pitch coach Chris Roe's first time at a nude beach was a little awkward, but he says it soon became freeing and "a celebration of myself both inside and out."
As an LGBT traveler, Roe feels a strong sense of inclusion, freedom, and connectivity to nature when he visits nude beaches.
"Any judgments are thrown out the door," he says. "It's so powerful to claim ownership of the skin you're in. At nude beaches, I'm not apart from nature, I'm part of it."
If you're nervous about sunbathing nude, Truman recommends easing into it the experience by going topless first.
And it's important to remember that you can just throw on your cover-up and leave if you're not enjoying the experience. There's no shame in nude beaches not being your thing.
Some are exclusively for women. Ladies Beach, which is also in Ulcinj, remains my all time favorite. Visitors are not permitted to take any photos here, so bathers can relax knowing their privacy is protected.
The beach also has high fences around the perimeter to shield the shore, preventing would be peeping Toms from taking a peek inside.
Local women flock here to dip in the sulfuric water, as it's believed to increase fertility. Ladies Beach also has natural medicinal mud, which you can self-apply, or indulge in a beachside mud massage.
For those who've spent over a year cooped up inside due to the pandemic, the idea of sunbathing on a nudist beach may be extremely enticing.
Beaches are generally low risk to visit, provided they aren't overcrowded, and nudist beaches tend to be in secluded areas.
And nude sunbathers typically respect each other's privacy, spacing themselves out along the beach, so maintaining a social distance isn't hard.
