Hey r/nudism , I wanted to post this because of the attention my post last night got (regarding me opening up about my nudism to my mother).
I wanted to bring this to the community's attention because of the amount of private messages i received last night. While many were heartfelt and genuine, I received at least 20+ messages from people that were some variation of the following:
Them: "Hi, I read your story on being a nudist, that's so great! Let me know if you ever need to chat more about nudism"
Me "Thank you! It just felt great to open up and share my experiences with other people!"
Them "Nice! Anyway, do you ever touch yourself when you're naked? What is your sex life like? ;)"
I am not exaggerating when I say I got similar messages from at least 15+ people last night that immediately turned sexual 3-4 messages into the conversation. I don't know what the solution to that is, but I feel like everyone here needs to be aware of what is going on in the subreddit lately. In addition to that, I don't know how many more low effort "I am a fifteen yr 0ld nudist" posts this place needs, but every other one reads like some sort of pedo fan-fic. And that sucks because there are many younger people out there who may be genuinely interested in naturism. This needs to be said and hopefully the mods of this sub can do something about it.
To end this, I just want to say to all the amazing people who did message me genuine and heartfelt encouragement last night/this morning, THANK YOU!!! Your words mean so much and you have no idea how nice it is to be supported and loved by other like-minded people. I love you all so much. Never change!
For a bit of background, I am a 20(F) year old university student who is currently living at home while attending school. I have been a closeted "at home" nudist for about 6 months now and have been really been enjoying it. This community especially has really been a great source of information and support as I've progressed on my journey as a nudist.
Anyways, I am lucky enough to have an indoor pool at home which is where I spend most of my time nude (besides my room). My parents are at work for most of the day so I really have the freedom to swim nude whenever they aren't there. This morning I was doing my regular laps (a great workout btw!) when I hear the door to the pool room slide open. Obviously I nearly have a heart attack and turn to see my mother standing there staring at me. Right away she asks where my swimsuit is, and rather than make up an excuse I just decided to open up and be honest about it. I explained that nudism was something I had been interested and practicing for awhile, and that whenever I had the house to myself I would just go without a bathing suit. Rather than get mad (like I thought she would) she was actually totally supportive and understanding of me! She said that as long as I was being safe and doing it appropriately that I shouldn't be ashamed of my body (which felt great to hear). It was actually such a relief to finally tell someone and get in-person support that I'm glad it happened.
We ended up talking for probably 30 minutes about our different experiences with nudity and how body image impacts how we feel when we are undressed, which was so amazing. I even ended up getting out of the pool and just stood there nude while we talked. I cannot express how GOOD it felt to bare myself completely in front of another person. To finally just be open and not have to hide behind clothes of the many other layers we put up when interreacting with another human. I made a point to not cross my arms or turn myself a certain way to hide, i just acted as I would any other time we would talk, expect I got to be nude!! :)
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with all the people here who have helped me so far! Thank you all again so much

I can't believe that the one place we have to share stories and talk about our interests is being taken over by perverted retards. You make all men look bad.
