Many people choose to come to Greece not to enjoy its long and popular sandy beaches but to go to some other beaches, small, remote and difficult to access which are perfect to practice nudism and naturism in Greece.
In fact, many people come to Greece to enjoy swimming and sunbathing naked.
Many remote beaches along the Greek islands and some of the Greek mainland are used to practice nudism. A few of them have been declared as Official Naturist beaches in Greece and are visited by lots of tourists every year.
If you want to practice naturism in Greece you have to know that Greek people are not used to nudism . It is usually ok if you are sunbathing topless in a remote beach but total nudism exists and is permitted only in some particular beaches. These beaches are most of a stretch of land surrounded by cliffs or high trees.
We provide here for you a list of the islands and beaches where you can practice naturism in Greece and give you a small description of these beaches. Be aware that naturism in Greece is more and more restricted and the following list might be out of date.
It is a cosmopolitan island where nudism is practiced mainly in Agios Ioannis and Super Paradise beaches. However, these beaches are always crowded by both naturists and non-naturists, so it is doubtable if you will really enjoy your time naked.
Naxos is one of the islands with the longest beaches of the Cyclades. Plaka, one of the largest has some parts with naturists. A beautiful and remote beach for naturism is Aliko.
While all the rest of Skiathos is not fond of nudism, the three sandy beaches that form Banana beach are very popular among naturists and non-naturists. Banana beach is an organized N.C.G (Nudist Club Greece) beach that is not difficult to access.
Myrtiotissa is the most well-known naturist beach in Corfu. It is a long stretch of sand right next to Glyfada beach and the road to go is quite rough.
The only official naturist beach on Rhodes is 3 km to the south of Faliraki village. You have to pass through rough roads to go there. The beach is 100% nude and is visited by people with their families with young children. Most visitors are German, Austrian and British.
Crete beaches are very popular in summer and only a few of them are suitable for nudism. Palaiochora, 75km from Chania town, is very quiet. There is sand in some areas and pebbles on others. However, in high seasons, there aren't many nudists. Filaki beach, to the south coast of Crete, is the most-naturist friendly beach of the island and relatively easy to access. Another naturist beach is Plakias beach, an extensive bay in front of Plakias village, 40 km to the south of Rethymno. The close-by Damnoni and Mikro Ammoudi beaches also offer enough places to get naked.
Paradise beach, approximately 25km from Thassos town, is easily accessible by car. Naturists usually go to the left side of the beach, which is generally quiet and remote in the morning.
The naturist beach of Samos is Tsamadou beach, 12 km from Samos town. The nudist section of the beach has large pebbles, which makes it difficult to get into the sea. Moreover, Tsamadou beach is often affected by strong winds and has large waves.
Just be aware that over the last years, some of the following beaches have been organized with umbrellas and sun beds and therefore nudity is not accepted any more.

On the French side (naturally – although, the Dutch side has the bare-buns Cupecoy Beach), Orient is the Caribbean’s premier place to drop trou. White sands softened by cooling waves give this beach a silky look. You’re free to wander without charge, but there is a small fee for beach-chair and beach-umbrella rentals.
Narrow and tough to find but popular nonetheless, Pointe Tarare is claimed to be the first legally designated nude beach in the Western Hemisphere. Sun-bathing here is almost a guarantee, as there’s very limited shade at this beach. With a small hike separating this beach and many of its more popular and tourist-populated areas, Pointe Tarare is naturally among the most secluded places on Guadeloupe and is one of the Caribbean’s best nude beaches.
The more intrepid nudist may want to trek to hard-to-reach Anse du Gouverneur. Its secluded location also offers beautiful, wondrous views of neighboring St. Kitts, Saba and St. Eustatius. There’s free parking available, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find restaurants, restrooms or many other services.
The island’s only bare beach is a little charmer compared to other beaches in Antigua . It’s the last of a string of four white-sand crescents on the west coast and is near the Hawksbill Hotel. You’ll find a few sunbeds to encourage a true embrace of sun-bathing in the nude, too.
Bikini tops routinely fly on Negril’s hippie haven in Jamaica , but birthday-suit types should aim for this nearby islet (named after the bird). While you’re here, don’t forget to try the lobster. And feel free to visit some of the islands’ other best beaches .

The most beautiful nudist beaches in Greece
On most of the nudist beaches that we will see, you could enjoy the freedom of swimming in the sea half-naked or completely naked.
Crete is one of the most famous nudist islands in the world, and this is due to the famous Matala, but also to the excellent nudist hotels that exist on this large island.
Kokkini Ammos is located 68 km southwest of Heraklion, only 800 meters south of Matala, and its windless beaches are suitable for swimming without a bathing suit.
The beach is one of the six best nudist beaches in the world and is famous for its wild beauty and turquoise water.
It is also well known on foreign TV stations, which describe it as a nudist beach that only the adventurous can explore, as it is accessible via a steep path that crosses the hill that separates Matala from Kokkini Ammos

Livadi is on the list of favorite destinations of nudists from all over the world. The beach has green water and in combination with the fine sand makes the landscape exotic.
Livadi is quite isolated and you will get there by boat. Otherwise, you could use your own means of transport, up to a point, because then a short walk along the path leading to the beach will be necessary.
The same applies, of course, to Kedros, which is one kilometer from Stavros. It is a beautiful little bay, where there is only nature with cedars, sand and crystal clear water.
Myrtiotissa was considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, by the foreign media, but also by the thousands of nudists who visited it too.
The place is secluded and safe, and this was one of the reasons why, since the 1960s, it is the only beach on the island of Corfu where nudism is officially tolerated.
Accessible by a steep path or by sea, it is located between the villages of Pelekas and Vatos on the west coast of the island, next to Glyfada beach and just a few meters from the monastery of the same name on the rock.
Nowadays, however, there is a worrying phenomenon related to the progressive shrinking of the beach, which is why the possibility of transporting tons of sand to restore it is being discussed.
Apart from the remote, beautiful and unspoiled beaches, there are also nudist beaches in our country, which are more popular. Therefore, it would be a mistake not to mention them.
This area includes three bays in Skiathos, the most famous of which, Mikri Banana is the smallest bay and is considered by many to be the best and most famous nudist beach in Greece.
Access to the beach requires a 10-15 minute walk, but once you get there, you will see before you the paradise of nudists from all over the world.
It is one of the few nudist beaches that can coexist harmoniously with those who do not part with their swimsuits, with those who swim in the sea only with their sunscreen on.
Paraga is also one of the most famous beaches of Mykonos. However, it has a secret that is difficult to know if you have never visited the Island of the Winds.
