1. Hidden Beach Resort, Tulum, Mexico
Hidden Beach Resort offers a secluded nudist experience, about half an hour away Cancun Airport on the Caribbean Sea. The hotel offers 42 luxury adults-only beach suites. Whether it’s soaking up some sun, getting involved in activities or dining in the restaurant, it can all be done in the nude.
2. Hotel Oz‘Inn, Cap d’Agde, France
Hotel Oz’Inn is located inside France’s Cap d’Agde, the largest naturist resort in Europe. It’s very private and offers a variety of relaxation facilities, including a wellness centre, massage, solarium, Turkish baths and jacuzzis available in some of the guest rooms.
All outdoor areas of the Vritomartis hotel are clothing-optional, but the private beach and pool are nude-only areas. Why not use this opportunity to get a full body tan without the lines?
With clothing not mandatory for staff as well as the guests, everyone is treated as equals. This helps first-timers feel more at ease.
This hotel is hidden in the forests of North-West Germany, the country where naturism began. Situated near the picturesque Moselle region, there’s a strict dress code for guests: they can’t wear anything in the spa, sauna and steam bath. In the pool area the rules are more relaxed: swimwear is permitted until 8pm, after which it’s back to birthday suits only.
5. Club Orient Resort, St Martin, French West Indies
Hidden in a bay on the Island of St Martin lies Club Orient Resort, which is marketed as a clothing-optional resort suitable for the whole family. It welcomes all ages for beach fun, water sports, spas, massages and other recreational activities. It has also partnered with a cruise service, offering nudist trips around the island.
6. Hotel Vera Playa Club, Almeria, Spain
Vera Playa Club is a resort within a large, nudist, gated community. There’s an entire zone with beaches, promenades, bars, restaurants, accommodation and even residential areas, where everyone lives life in the buff.
The hotel backs on to a long coastline with stunning beaches and year-round sunshine. From Vera Playa guests can enjoy views of the most popular nudist beach in the area.
7. Hylteberga Gard Naturist Bed & Breakfast, Skurup, Sweden
Hylteberga Gard Naturist is Scandinavia’s first ever nudist B&B and another hotel great for first timers. Swedes are very open to nudity; not even the neighbours will mind you walking around outdoors without any clothes on.
On this quaint little farm you can sunbathe nude on the terrace, visit the nudist lakes and beaches along the coast or spend time in the sauna, which offers stunning views over the fields.
8. Gästehaus Lührmann, Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria
Lührmann loves the idea of naturism and wants guests to experience the feeling of the sun and the snow on their skin. Although it’s limited to the spa, sauna, the garden and the sun terrace, the hotel encourages being naked to truly appreciate the environment.
9. Clover Spa and Hotel, Birmingham, UK
Although nudism in the UK is not as widely accepted as in mainland Europe, Clover Spa and Hotel in Birmingham is slowly bringing naturism in. It is completely optional within the hotel to wear clothes.
10. Naturist Panorama Hotel, Vassilikos, Greece
Hotel Panorama is a Greek, family run hotel and a nudist destination since 2010. It’s located in the village of Vassilikos on the beautiful island of Zakynthos. The region is largely untouched by tourism.
My girls’ trip to Bali was smooth sailing, until it got to flying home. Here’s the horror stories I encountered from the airport.
Time Out has ranked the world’s “coolest” streets – and one Aussie contender came in at number two. Any guesses?
