Gymnast Aly Raisman bares all as the cover girl for ESPN’s latest , the “Body Issue.” The Olympic gold medalist appears fully nude in an ESPN video, discussing her passion for gymnastics, her intense regimen and the sport that inspires and challenges her.
Rather than titillating or pornographic, the images and accompanying video focuses on the 22-year-old’s remarkable physical strength and feminine, yet muscular physique as she moves through and strikes various poses on the balance beam. Although she displays great agility, and is clearly unclothed, she hardly shows “it all.”
Raisman, who is 5’2 and 115 pounds, recognizes how gymnasts are of different body types, some thin and lithe. Yet she shares how she has come to love her muscles for the strength they give her. As she tells ESPN, “I think imperfection is beauty. Instead of being insecure about my muscles, I’ve learned to love them. I don’t even think of it as a flaw anymore because it’s made me into the athlete that I am.”
If she makes the US team for the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, at 22 Raisman will be the oldest competing gymnast. At the last Olympics she took home two golds and a bronze.
In London she performed her winning floor routine to the crowd-pleasing “Hava Nagila,” and in interviews, told reporters that she felt the 2012 games should have honored the 40th anniversary of the terrorist attack that took the lives of Israeli athletes and trainers at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
“If there had been a moment’s silence,” the 18-year-old told the world following her win, “I would have supported it and respected it.”
Back in 2012, the New York Post quoted Raisman’s rabbi praising Raisman’s victory and her “mettle” in remembering the slain Israeli Olympians.
“She is a focused person,” said Rabbi Keith Stern of Temple Beth Avodah in Newton Centre, Massachusetts.
“She’s very proud and upfront about being Jewish,” Stern said. “Neither she nor her family explicitly sought to send a message. But it shows how very integrated her Jewish heritage is in everything that she does.
In her ESPN video, Raisman explains the intense pressures involved with training a lifetime for a minute-and-a-half beam routine.
“I work out six days, 32 hours a week for the dream of competing at the Olympics again. I’m always eating healthy, always going to bed early. Everything I put into my body is for the purpose of gymnastics,” said Raisman.

Adventuras y Fantasias or Fantastical Adventures

This entry was posted in ESL Links . Bookmark the permalink .
As
anyone who has dated a gymnast can testify, they are special.
Apart from the benefits of young healthy bodies, they have a flexibility
and physical awareness which make relationships adventures.
We remember
one girl in particular, a rhythmic gymnast at that, who did that
thing where she arched her back and brought her hips around and over
her head! Needless to say, those who have not experienced this
phenomena are often fascinated by it.
Therefore our surprise at the gymnastic bombshell dropped
by the NBC announcer at the women’s team event the other night, who nonchalantly
let drop the sextraordinary news that in 2002 two members of the Rumanian
team had been dropped for filming a naked gymnastics video for some Japanese
filmmakers who paid them $40,000 each, was not so much that this had
taken place as that word of it had leaked out on world-wide television
in the
middle of the Olympic games.
The fact that there is a market for this kind of smut
is obvious and the reason gymnastics will never be eliminated from the
Games, and the fact that these Rumanian babes took the dough for the
show merely answers the question of what these driven, world class athletes
are going to do once they grow breasts, given that they have not had
time to go to school or learn to cook during their privileged/deprived
childhoods.
Of course, your indefatigable correspondent immediately
lit out on the digital trail of this mysterious naked gymnastics video. Thanks
to industry resource Fleshbot
w e discovered plenty of free
pics of the women on the sites selling the complete video, including
one that has a free
19 second mpeg sample (5 mg).
It is hard to justify the Romanian decision to kick
them off the team. As the media have repeatedly reminded us, the
original Olympics were an all-nude affair. The Japanese filmmakers were
obviously just Olympic purists hoping to resuscitate some of the original
traditions of the Games.
There you go again…this breast fixation is way too Freudian… why not come to Maine and pick up your Christmas presents and give your step-father a couple of computer lessons. We need help with his address book. Love, Mom
sehr gut Saite. Was machen Sie mein Freund?
keep it up !
i think she is sooo dumb coming from a gymnast she is a big disgrace to the whole gymnastics thing wat a dumb butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Three former Romanian gymnasts who have been heavily criticized for appearing nude in a DVD film and photographs in Japan bared all yet again in a Japanese news magazine.
The photos, published in the latest issue of the Shukan Gendai, show Lavinia Milosovici, 26; Claudia Presecan, 23; and Corina Ungureanu, 22, posing naked and performing gymnastics on a balance beam in only a G-string. The issue was sent to subscribers on Sunday.
The three have been embroiled in a scandal in Romania and Japan since they first appeared nude in the magazine's Nov. 16 issue. Weeks later, two DVDs and a book featuring them naked went on sale in Japan.
Their photos _ some taken in suits bearing the Romanian Gymnastics Federation crest _ nearly brought a ban against the federation in Japan last month. The Romanian federation later barred the three from coaching and refereeing in official competitions for five years.
Although the suspension only applies to official federation competitions, Presecan quit her job last month as a gymnastics teacher at a school in Timisoara.
The three gymnasts have denied disgracing the image of Romanian gymnastics.
Presecan took the all-around gold and the team gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and was also part of the Romanian team that won the world gymnastics title in 1994, 1995 and 1997. Milosovici won two gold medals at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
In its latest issue, Shukan Gendai used some of the same photos it had previously bought from Tokyo-based Ongaku Senka Co., which published a book of the photos in November.
Officials at both the magazine and its publishing company declined to comment on the matter.
It wasn't clear if the magazine, which covers current affairs and also publishes nude photos, obtained the still DVD pictures along with the first batch of photos printed in November.
The gymnasts did not disclose how much money they had earned for the first photo session, which took place in September, but Romanian newspapers reported it was up to $40,000.
