My wife and I are heading to the Catalonia Royal Tulum in March, and we are curious about how liberal the beach and pool are at this resort? We know it's "adult only" but we're curious if anyone here has been, and if there were many other nude sunbathers at the resort? My wife likes to go topless, and I would happily sunbathe nude as well if the vibe is acceptable. But we don't want to offend any locals or the wait staff. Can anyone provide us with a review based on what we're looking for?
We've been to the Catalonia Royal Tulum several times... nude sunbathers no, topless on the beach OK not allowed in the pool areas.
Thank you for the heads up! Good to know ahead of time. Are there signs up around the pool about not being topless? Or is it ok so long as my wife puts her top on to swim or walk around?

Your hotel is not in Tulum . Its actually closer to PDC...in an area called Xpu Ha.
The actual Tulum beach is more liberal with nudity in some areas.

I would say that most of them are ok with Topless, but not all with being completely nude...
There are some places that allow to be nude, but if you go to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere to an almost empty beach, you can swim there and sunbathe nude with any inconvenient =)....
None of the beaches are specifically nude. But every now and then, you'll see someone nude. But it's becoming less and less with more high end hotels crammed in and the hippie places being squeezed out.
