She is herself a former model. Four times a year she crosses her native region by train searching for the next top models, the ones who will one day strut the catwalks of Paris or New York.
Her travelling companion, Stephane Hababou, watches the photos of would-be models scroll across the screen. He’s also a scout. He represents the prestigious Marilyn agency in Paris.
It’s his first trip to Siberia. Hababou says it’s the best way for him to find new prospects ahead of his competition.
There’s not a moment to waste. Anna and Stephane stop in every large city of the region, holding a casting call that is open to all.
About 50 teen girls in black undergarments and stiletto heels greet Anna and Stephane at every stop. Some move nervously. Others proudly show off their curves.
The presence of this visitor from Paris ramps up the pressure. Everyone knows Hababou holds the key to a possible career abroad. It’s an opportunity to follow both an American and French dream, a chance to escape the daily drudgery of life in Siberia.

The 17-year-old barely has the time to take two steps before a cutting remark welcomes her into the world of modelling, even if pronounced under the guise of humour. “Marina is a little overweight.” At 93 centimetres, her hips are too wide. The visitors still take a few photos and recommend she go on a diet.
Russia’s largest modelling school is in Novosibirsk. It’s a unique breeding ground for girls who start training as early as age 10 or 12. They learn fashion photography techniques and how to sway their hips on a catwalk.
Fifteen-year-old Kristina Churina, a recent graduate, catches Stephane Hababou’s eye. If she loses a little weight, she could end up in Paris within the year, modeling the creations of top designers.
But few are chosen. Anna selects about 30 young women during each of her Siberian scouting trips. Only a fraction of them will ever end up with real modelling careers.
To be ready to seize the opportunity if presented with it, Kristina has been taking intensive English courses. She also has a plan B. She’s studying tourism and hopes to one day manage a large hotel.

Siberia is known around the world for its frigid temperatures. But in the world of fashion, the region is famous for being home to the most beautiful women in the world.
The measuring tape is king. Minimum height: 172 centimetres (5 feet, 6 inches). Maximum hips: 90 centimetres (35.4 inches).
Casting calls are open to all and attract about 60 hopeful young women every time they are held.

Yulia Ushakova, who plays for HC Spartak Moscow, stripped down to just her underpants as she laid on the treatment table to show off her bandaged ankle.
The club tweeted the saucy snap to their official Twitter page and it racked up almost 3,000 retweets. “Trauma to the lower body of our leading (player) Julia Ushakova,” the tweet read. “(The team) placed the attacker on the list of traumatized.”

Spartak risked backlash from their fans, but the stunning blonde decided to share the image with her huge army of Instagram followers on Monday.
“I twisted my ankle, two broken nails,” the former bodybuilder wrote alongside the controversial picture.
“My wrist will be corrected, and when I go for the manicure, the problem will be solved. I started the week badly.
“I will solve the ‘women’s problems’ in terms of the degree of significance, first I’ll remove the wrinkles, then to the manicure. And the ankle itself will pass.
“Let’s see how cosmetics works. To all, a cool and positive start to the week!”
And she confirmed on social media on Thursday that she had recovered well and should be fit to play the next game.
“The ankle has recovered well, everything in order. Start working with the group and prepare the next matches at home.”

The 28-year-old has since shared several images and videos of herself working up a sweat in the gym with her followers.
In one post, which showed her doing hamstring curls, she took the chance to address the use of a naked image.
“In my direct messages for some reason, there are a hundred messages like ‘I’m so sad for your injury’ and most of them are from Turkey,” the post read.
“I do not know if this due to that Spartak officially declared me ‘injured’ or maybe a half-naked photo caused such excitement, but a fact is a fact.”
Ushakova is popular on Instagram with over 365,000 followers with her nude shot getting just under 30,000 likes.
She regularly posts pictures of her gym workouts but also has plenty of modelling shots on her Instagram page.

They were "standing in the nude putting on suntan lotion" when police arrived.
Three women were "air drying" in the nude at a Florida rest stop before they led officers on a wild highway chase , according to police.
Officers were responding to a "suspicious persons" call at an I-75 rest area in Pasco County, Florida, at around 11 a.m. Wednesday when they saw the women "standing in the nude putting on suntan lotion," according to dispatch audio.
The women, later identified as Oasis Mcleod, 18, Jeniyah Mcleod, 19, and Cecilia Young, 19, told the responding officer that they were "air drying" after showering, according to Florida Highway Patrol. They jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene as the officer tried to gather their information, leading authorities on a long and wild chase, FHP said in a statement.
Police said the driver nearly ran over a pedestrian and an officer, who had to "jump back to avoid being struck by the car," according to the statement.
"I attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. As soon as I did so, the vehicle increased its rate of speed, and then the driver entered the oncoming lane of traffic," the statement said. "This erratic maneuvering caused multiple vehicles to take evasive action and travel onto the westbound grass shoulder of State Road 52, in order to avoid a collision."
FHP called off the initial chase, but told nearby agencies to be on the lookout. An officer spotted the women later on at a nearby convenience store, where they evaded arrest for a second time.
The final pursuit ended with police deploying stop sticks, a pursuit intervention technique, to deflate their tires. The vehicle came to a halt, but the women "interlocked their arms together" and refused to exit, police said.
Responding officers broke out the car windows, tasered the women and took them into custody. Several of the troopers sustained minor injuries throughout the episode.
Police found marijuana in the vehicle and Mcleod was charged for driving under the influence after failing a field sobriety test, court documents showed.
The officer was attempting to arrest one of the women when the driver purposely tried to run him over while the other passenger came at him with a metal bat, police said.
"Sgt. Dennis Rich, seeing that Trooper Paulin was in imminent danger, rammed the suspect vehicle with his marked patrol vehicle, and the vehicle fled again," the statement said.
The trio faces a barrage of charges, including fleeing to elude, resisting arrest, aggravated assault and indecent exposure. It's unclear if they have retained attorneys.
