Acting might look easy on screen but it is far from being comfortable. If the script demands, an actor has to go any length and breadth and deep dive into that character without any hesitation. The trouble comes when the role is demanding and an actor has to step out of comfort zone. While some Bollywood actors stripped for sensuous scenes, a few have shed their clothes for serious roles as well.
We list down some of the B-Town celebs who were courageous enough to do the dare bare act.
The supremely talented actor stripped bare for the film Shahid. The role was based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in Mumbai in 2010. Rajkumar Rao astonished everyone with his dare-bare act but also was immensely praised for versatile acting for which he won a National Award for Best Actor.
Aamir Khan shocked the entire industry with his out-of-box PK poster where he posed nude for the first time. The “Mr.Perfectionist” created a buzz among his fans with his innovative thinking. While Aamir tried to be as daring and different as always, his fans were in for a surprise looking at the poster. But it seems like this poster also offended some section of the society.
With films like Shootout at Wadala, Parmanu, Romeo Akbar Walter and Madras Cafe, John Abraham has proved that he can do more than just pose in movies. In Dharma Production’s Dostana, he played a hottie who had girls swooning over him and he even flaunted a part of his butt in the film as he stepped out of the sea wearing swimming trunks. But prior to Dostana, he went nude for a crucial scene in Kabir Khan’s New York wherein he played a terrorist.
Neil Nitin Mukesh is an actor who has not got his due credit in Bollywood yet. He tried to raise the bar with films like Johnny Gaddar, New York, Jail, Lafangey Parindey, 7 Khoon Maaf and 3G to name a few. For one particular scene in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail, Neil stripped naked. Though the film tanked at the box, Neil‘s performance was much appreciated.
Ranbir Kapoor has proved his mettle with films like Rockstar and Barfi! to name a few. He even chose an unconventional and intense film like Saawariya for his debut where he stripped nak*d for a song “Jab Se Tere Naina” in the film with only a thin towel held around his waist. As it did nothing to hide his frame, it was a bold and unparalleled move.
Ranbir Kapoor went one step with his nude scene in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, the role which Ranbir breath into.
There were other actors who went naked with their role which includes Radhika Apte and Adil Hussain in Parched, Deepa Sahi in Maya Memsaab, Vir Das in Mastizaade, Rahul Bose in Bombay Boys, Nandana Sen in Rang Rasiya and Simi Garewal in Mera Naam Joker.

Best known for her famous chat show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, Simi has given several bold scenes onscreen over the years. She is still considered as one the top leading ladies of Indian cinema who was ahead of her time.
