The Cork girl was first assaulted by a number of people before allegedly being raped by a male
A SICK video of an Irish teenager being repeatedly attacked and sexually assaulted in a hotel bedroom has been shared hundreds of times on social media.
Gardai are investigating the sex attack on the young woman who was visiting Killarney, Co Kerry to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
She was accompanied by others and they were staying in the tourist town.
According to sources the vicious attack happened after a night out.
The Cork girl was first assaulted by a number of people before allegedly being raped by a male.
A source said: "What happened was particularly vicious and terrible. But the assaults were videoed on a mobile phone and were then disseminated in social media.
"Obviously this has added to the distress and trauma suffered by this young girl."
The very short video was uploaded on social media and has been shared hundreds of times over the past few days.
The teenager suffered a number of physical injuries during the sustained attack.
The girl reported the attack to Gardai and she received medical treatment before being taken to the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital in Cork City.
Gardai confirmed that they have received a complaint in relation to the alleged incident and are investigating it.
To date nobody has been arrested and enquiries are on-going.
