Sofia Vergara recently turned 45 on July 10th and she’s proudly flaunting her birthday suit.
The “Modern Family” star posed completely nude for Women’s Health’s Naked 2017 issue. And the highest-paid television star in the world claimed flaunting her curves was a breeze.
“I’ve always been very comfortable with my body,” the actress told the magazine . “You know, I’m Latin so we grow up going to the beach in a G-string. I used to do work for the Latin market in my 20s. Like I would do calendar shoots, very sexy and everything. And you know things have changed… how much you take care of yourself is a reality. We all age and you have to embrace it.”
However, Vergara admitted she was a bit nervous about the upcoming photo shoot. Right before, Vergara was filming “Bent” in Rome and “ate like an animal.” She wasn’t exercising and then two days before the shoot, she came home with pneumonia. Looking over at photos of potential poses sent by the creative team also didn’t help.
“They’re all of tall models holding their boobs with one arm,” she said. “But I can barely cover my boobs with two arms — I’m a 32-triple-D! My boobs are real, and I had a baby. If I grab them, I can’t even cover the nipple!”
These days, Vergara is attempting to have a regular fitness routine, but even she gets tempted to stay in bed.
“Like I find any excuse not to do it,” she said. “[I’m] Taking a couple of yoga classes. I’m very bad at it. I don’t have much patience. So I’m always trying to find something that I can do."
She also added, "I don't know if I'm strong. I have bad knees and very thin bones; I can barely do a pushup. I wish I could be a little more athletic, but when you're born with these gigantic boobs... I've had them since I was 13 and they've gotten bigger when I was pregnant and had the baby."
And even though her husband, "Magic Mike" actor Joe Manganiello, is a lifelong athlete, she still can't seem to enjoy any workout sessions, either alone or with her beau.
"It's like torture for me," she explained. "I'm in a bad mood two hours before, I'm in a bad mood while I'm doing it, I'm in a bad mood at the end because I have to schedule the next class."
Vergara did say it’s gotten easier for women like her to proudly embrace their shape in front of cameras.
“It’s not just the Barbie doll on the cover,” she said. “It’s real women. So it’s getting better. I think before it was a little bit more strict to how women were supposed to look... It's not about having muscle or cut abs. I don't have abs because I'm not 'I need to be a fit model with the perfect body.' That would take too much effort!"
The September 2017 issue of Women’s Health hits newsstands August 8.

Sofia Vergara is feeling body confident!
The 45-year-old Modern Family actress recently posed nude for Women's Health 's Naked Issue, looking undeniably gorgeous on the September cover. In the accompanying interview, Vergara gets candid about how her body has changed through the years, the work she puts in to maintain her famous physique and why her husband, Joe Manganiello, appreciates her for being herself.
Vergara says posing naked for Women's Health was especially important to her because of the message it's sending.
"Here's a woman, 45, being able to show her body," she points out. "It's not like before, when it was just young girls who would make the cover of a magazine."
Though Mangianello, of course, had some thoughts.
"Joe's like, 'F**k, you're going to be naked in everything now? Why?'" she says with a laugh, referencing a steamy shower scene in her upcoming spy thriller, Bent .
Vergara has no problem getting candid about aging in Hollywood.
"I'm 45. Even if you want to, at this time in your life, you can't be perfect," she explains. "It's not that you hate it, or that you're upset about it, but it is our reality. We're changing. I see it happening to me. I want to look my age, but I want to look great. I think if you are obsessed with this 'I want to look younger' thing, you're going to go crazy."
"People say, 'Oh, you look like you're in your 20s.' Well, it's not true," she adds. "Our skin is different. I had never thought of the word pore, then I'm like, 'Sh**! What do I do with these?'"
Another topic Vergara isn't shy about is her bra size.
"I can barely cover my boobs with two arms -- I'm a 32-triple-D!" she says when noting why most nude magazine poses won't work for her. "My boobs are real, and I had a baby. If I grab them, I can't even cover the nipple!"
The actress is accepting of her body, including that she'll never have six-pack abs. But she does strive to eat healthy, and works out with a trainer three or four times a week using the Megaformer, an advanced Pilates machine.
"Joe built a very nice gym in the house, so I don't have any excuses," she admits. "It's not about having muscle or cut abs. I don't have abs because I'm not 'I need to be like a fit model with a perfect body.' That would take too much effort!"
"It's like torture for me," she later admits about exercising. "I'm in a bad mood two hours before, I'm in a bad mood while I'm doing it, I'm in a bad mood at the end because I have to schedule the next class."
But if there's one thing she does love, it's looking her best for any occasion. Vergara admits she almost always wears lipstick, even if she's at home by herself.
"One of the first things Joe told me when we started dating was, 'I like how you're always very well put together,'" she reveals. "He said, 'I've had girlfriends that are all day long prancing around the house in sweats, no makeup…' I'm not saying that's bad; it's great. For good or worse, it's the way I grew up: Accept yourself but also be better than yourself."
ET spoke to Vergara last month at the Emoji Movie premiere, where she talked about playing the flamenco dancer emoji.
"Who who else is gonna do that than me?" she quipped.

Sophie Simmons is looking more stunning than ever, and the 23-year-old says she's "proud" of how she looks now, which is why she's been sharing some racier selfies.
Simmons, the daughter of famed rocker and KISS frontman Gene Simmons, has undergone a major body transformation in the past few years, and she recently opened up to ET about her new-found confidence after being body-shamed as a teenager.
"I remember definitely a few times when I went to the beach with my family and there were photos of me in a bikini and the headline was like, 'Beached Whale,'" Sophie recounted. "I was maybe 15 or 16."
According to Sophie, her efforts to get in shape weren't really about changing her physical appearance, but were driven by a desire to feel healthier.
"The decision was never to lose weight or never to get smaller. That's never really been an issue for me, I've always been happy at whatever size I am," Sophie shared. "But I was feeling very lethargic and tired and grumpy and I couldn't really figure out why, and then I got allergy tested and found out I was allergic to things that I was eating every day."
Once she cut out the foods that were holding her back from being totally healthy, her body, "just changed shape."
"I started getting rid of weight in weird places and holding it in the right places," Sophie explained.
Now, Sophie -- who recently released her debut single , a cover of Sixpence None The Richer's 1998 hit, "Kiss Me" -- is proudly flaunting her figure all over Instagram, and she even posed nude for the art photography book Curves in July -- although posing nude was still scary for her.
"I was very nervous and I didn't really feel OK with it as I was shooting it, but I knew that if it came out and I could just get through that, that I would accept myself because there's no hiding in the book," Sophie said. "There's no Photoshop in the book. None of us are made to look thinner and I just loved
the idea."
Now that she's strengthened her own confidence and self-image, the model and singer is using her platform to spread her body-positive message.
"We're not all the same size and the same age," Sophie shared. "My Instagram has the same photos on it that another Instagram model will have but maybe I'm five sizes bigger than her, and that's okay because it just shows a different type of person to look up to."
Sophie -- a former reality TV star who appeared with her family on the A&E series Gene Simmons: Family Jewels and alongside her mother, Shannon Tweed, on the reality series Shannon and Sophie -- also shared her thoughts on another reality show family, the Duggars.
