Here Are Some Helpful Tips On How To Drive Naked
(You know what's better when you're naked? Damn near everything, and that includes driving. But there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. Sam Gomez of GayWheels.com has some helpful tips for your next clothes-optional road trip.)
Believe or not, it’s perfectly legal to drive naked in most parts of the country.
For those who enjoy the wind in your face and the breeze in your hair — all of your hair — driving naked can be very liberating. Add in a sunroof and some Nina Hagen, and you can really feel the call of the wild.
At the same time, however, you may be setting yourself up for trouble with Johnny (or JoAnn) Law. Clothed or not, caution when driving is always advised, so when you’re not flying by the seat of your pants because you have no pants, extra planning is crucial.
Rule of thumb : as long as no one can see your junk or, for lack of a better term, butt crack, you’re probably okay. Butt cheeks and side loins are typically hunky-dory, though pubic hair is questionable.

If that sounds a tad graphic, it should: many laws addressing nudity single out genitals and the “crack” as “indecent”. Other appendages and activities can fall into gray areas. Breasts, male or female, might be okay; pinching or fondling them in public almost certainly isn’t.
When driving undraped, your biggest concern is when/if anyone — especially children — can see you au natural . There have been reports of naked drivers being pulled over and ordered to step out of the car; subsequently, the driver has been charged with violating public decency laws. If you really dig driving your Beetle in the buff, we suggest that you steer clear of parks when families are lounging and avoid “appearing” naked: both of those can lead to harassment by the po-po.

When you say, “Darlene is nude”, it means Darlene doesn’t have any clothes on. When you say, “Darlene is naked”, it means Darlene doesn’t have any clothes on, and she’s up to something . Translation: when driving, don’t look naked .)
The best way to avoid problems with the law is to keep a pair of shorts or underwear nearby. Running around in you BVDs or Spanx may be of questionable taste, but it’s perfectly legal. Should you need to step out of your car, you ought to be wearing something, even if it’s a banana hammock. ( Google it .) And this should go without saying: try not give police other reasons to pull you over, like sipping from an 40 oz. or reeking of hemp.
Here are a few more practical tips for your escape from the shackles of poly-cotton blends:
Above all, remember that your key function is to operate the car. If you find something’s distracting you — your beauty, the stunning view of your passenger, or something more lurid — driving naked is not a good idea. Keep your eyes where they belong: on the road.

I had a long drive yesterday – about 10 hours – and as usual I was nude while driving. My car was packed full for a week-long work trip, and I had piles of bedding on the passenger seat.

Early on I was driving west out of Virginia (US) toward West Virginia on a scenic 2-lane highway. Just before I reached the mountain that forms part of the western boundary of the Shenandoah Valley, I saw a man thumbing for a ride. Time for lots of quick thinking; I wasn’t about to turn someone down for a ride simply because I was nude, and with him about to hit a 2500 foot (750 M) climb I decided to stop. First decision done.

Next I need to decide whether to find my shorts and pull them on quickly while he walked up to me, then make him wait while I cleared his seat, or clear the seat first. I decided on the latter, and moved the pillows and bag of snacks to the back, finally getting to my shorts right as he reached the car. I had the window down so I greeted him and said something like, “So, I drive nude - sorry if that’s a problem.” He simply got in and said it was no problem, so we drove on and I never pulled my shorts on. (At this point I figured I was doing him a big favor, so he could stand to be flexible with my state of undress - too presumptuous do you think?)

He told me he had been picked up by two other nude drivers over the last twenty years, and asked me if I did it because I was hot (it was a cool, beautiful spring morning). I told him it was actually how I was most comfortable, but as the day grew hotter it WOULD help me stay cool.

Later he asked if I’d prefer him to roll the window up. With his strong smell of stale tobacco I was glad for the fresh air, but also the breeze was really nice in the car - and I told him so. I also said he should try the naked thing, so he could fully enjoy the spring breeze. But he declined, saying he has enough trouble with the cops as it is, and if he went around naked they’d lock him up as a crazy man. So I was the only nude in the car for the next twenty minutes until he got out, but nothing but kind and respectful words were spoken the whole time.

A first for me ;-)

I have driven nude several times, but I never have picked up a hitchhiker. With that said, I've been far from the only person in the car while nude driving. I mostly drive naked after the sun has gone down, but have done it a few times during the day. At this point, when nude driving is taking place, I have no room in my van for passengers because I already have 5 other nude passengers. You can find my story of how nude car rides became a thing elsewhere. Short story is, we were caught in a downpour at a theme park and my kids stripped and buckled in. Now naked car rides are common for my passengers.

The kids love to ride nude and 95% of the time when they are in the car, they are without clothing while my wife and I typically are only nude in the car at night or on a long and lonesome road.
I've never picked up a hitchhiker; however, when I was in Hawaii, I did a whole naked vacation. The driver and I were naked and he picked up a hitchhiker. Before he got in the car, the driver told him that we were naked. He didn't care. He didn't strip down, but it was a nice drive with him until he reached his destination.
About 3 or 4 years ago, after I had driven nude early one Sunday for a skinny dip in the river, I was then en route (driving nude again) to go for a hill walk when I saw a hitch-hiker. As there was very little traffic going the same way, I stopped to give him a lift, even though I knew I wouldn't have had time to cover up. He was going to a town a few miles up the road, so he got in. I said I'd been for a swim in the river, and he commented on the lack of swimming pools locally. He was quite chatty but didn't comment about me being naked, but he was probably just glad of a lift as he had walked for a few miles already. I went an extra mile or so to drop him nearer home, he thanked me for the lift, we said goodbye, then went for my hill walk.

I raised my kids nude and up to about age 14 they hardly ever wore clothes .Driving them to and from school they were often nude in the car , often dressing just before getting out the car at school and strippping off as soon as they got in the car after school . There was always plenty of room as I always had 7 or 8 seater cars .
