Worldwide famous athletes have been long known for posing nude or even simply partially clothed for men’s magazines such as Playboy. Some do it for the money and fame, others for a cause and yet others because they are simply proud of perfectly sculpted bodies.
Here are ten of the most famous and perhaps most lovely and perhaps most famous athletes who have previously posed for Playboy Magazine.
One of the most renown American high-jumpers, she appeared on the cover of Playboy’s September 2004 issue. Her photos were part of the 12-page nude pictorial “Women of the Olympics”.
Amy Acuff has previously competed in four Summer Olympics (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008) as a member of USA Track & Field. She finished as high as fourth during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.
Katarina Witt is not only one of the greatest figure skater, she has one of the most remarkable personalities to ever grace the rink. She is the only German figure skater to win two Olympic gold medals, 4 World Championships and 6 consecutive European Championships.
Her nude pictorial edition was the second ever sold-out issue of Playboy.
Anita Marks played professional football for five years and quarterbacked two women’s l football teams: the Florida Stingrays and Miami Fury.
She was the Playboy Centerfold of the 2002 September edition, and according to her own declarations, the only reason she accepted Playboy’s offer was because she was trying to demonstrate that it is okay to look attractive and still play football.
After being knocked off Tournoi de Roland-Garros by Serena Williams, Ashley Harkleroad claimed a more glamorous cup by appearing in the Playboy Magazine, the August 2008 issue. She was the first professional tennis player to appear in Playboy.
The first boxer to appear on our list, Mia St. John is not only impeccable at what she does, she is also famous for using her trim athletic figure in the eleven page spread Playboy magazine in November 1999.

Butyrskaya’s figure skating career is a singular great example of how intensive training translates into incredible performances — winning the 1999 World Championship, the European Championship thrice and the Russian National Figure Skating Championship six times. She graced the covers of Playboy magazine in November 1998.
At the age of 14, Amanda Beard won her first Olympic gold medal, making her the second-youngest American swimmer to ever accomplish that feat.
She followed up by breaking the world record in the 200-meter breaststroke twice and capturing seven medals in her career. Amanda posed nude for the Playboy Magazine in July 2007 in an effort to change clichés of what it means to be a powerful athlete woman.
Gabrielle Reese is known just as much for her professional beach volleyball career as her modeling career. She has been on countless glamorous and sports magazine covers including the Playboy Magazine in 2001.
Known as one of the most recognizable female personalities in sports, along with being a great force in her athletics, Kiana Tom agreed to pose for Playboy in May 2002.
Despite appearing in lots of her own workout series and having an incredibly enviable body, she was initially hesitant to appear in Playboy, supposedly because she didn’t feel her body was 100% percent ready.

Daring gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts are opting to work out in bicycle shorts that are strikingly similar to the color of human skin and give off a naked appearance.
The nude fashion trend among athletes has largely been credited to the Australian activewear brand Echt, which makes a variety of bike shorts and leggings, according to news.com.au .
However, plenty of similarly colored athletic wear bottoms are available on trendy clothing companies like Forever 21, Fashion Nova and Pretty Little Thing. Amazon and Walmart also have nude shorts available online that are meant for biking or dancing.
As to why the trend seems to be gaining popularity, the answer is simple, according to podcaster and celebrity fashion stylist Lindsey Evans.
“The nude bike short trend is a classic ‘don't let your clothes wear you’ moment,” she told Fox News. “They draw attention to the wearer’s body versus the outfit itself being what's drawing the eye in. Celebrities like the Kardashians wear them to draw attention to their waists and butts. They definitely helped popularize the trend.”
Nude bike shorts were listed as a hot fashion trend in December 2019 by Glowsly , and again in July 2020 by Who What Wear – both of which are popular fashion and lifestyle publications.
Though the trend may not be universally accepted, it is being embraced by some, which is a complete 180 from the widespread criticism and mockery Colombia’s bicycle team received in 2014 when their women’s and men’s teams wore partially nude uniforms.
Despite the minority acceptance nude bike shorts are receiving now, at least one part of the look is not a lasting fashion staple, according to Evans.
In her own words, “Nude is a classic and will always be in style, however, bike shorts are a fleeting trend.”

After copping a number of strange looks while out for a run, this woman discovered her trendy gym shorts had let her down.
A woman who was working out in a pair of flesh coloured shorts has revealed her shock when she discovered there was a flaw with the trendy item that made it look like she’d had a terrible accident.
TikTok user Madison Hildreth shared a video after returning home from a run in 32 degree heat in the trendy bike shorts, recently made popular by the Kardashians.
During her workout, the social media star couldn’t help but notice a few people giving her an odd look and couldn’t figure out why.
But it was only when she got home and took a look in the mirror that she spotted the problem with her shorts.
She captioned the clip : “So I noticed people staring at me on my jog this morning.
“I stood in the mirror when I got home... and realised why.”
Unfortunately for Madison, her light-toned shorts didn’t disguise her sweat patches and made it look as though she’d wet herself.
“Lesson of the day: don’t wear light coloured shorts in 90 degree weather...” she added.
The clip has now racked up over 6.8 million views and over 125,000 “likes” - and thankfully people in the comments were full of sympathy.
One replied: “Embrace the crotch sweat girl. Happens to all of us running and sweating.”
Another added: “Showed you were working hard. Own it.”
Meanwhile, a third joked: “Don’t sweat it.
“I mean, don’t worry about it. That’s also me at the gym.”
It’s not the first time a woman has had an awkward blunder wearing the trendy item. Last year Sydney woman Gabi Goddard was “asked to leave” her gym because of her skin-tight shorts.
But she later realised she’d been wearing her “scrunch bum shorts” inside out at the time of the incident which led to people confusing her as having her G-string on show.
Gabi labelled the move “horrifying” in an Instagram post that quickly went viral, with many agreeing the situation was “unacceptable” and encouraged “objectifying women”.
