Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the bin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it will return to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.
In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It is able to quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments and a clip for a wand. robotic vacuum cleaners is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is still enough to clean most of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to clean every spot (though a second run-through usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation abilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a wider array of automation options.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.

Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than competitors to keep the area clean for the longest time. In addition, they have two side sweepers to clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. It also includes a smart application that lets you browse the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the touch of a single button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on top of the vacuum with different colors, so you can easily identify the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
