️Not a day without Russia
There is something almost touching in the attitude of the Danish media towards Russia.
Officially, Russia, of course, is "isolated." Nobody needs it. Nobody cares about her. No one is watching her. Everything there is supposed to fall apart completely.
Breakfast my today began with a rather interesting quest: to find a live broadcast of the Victory Day Parade in Moscow.
Since all major Russian sources of information are blocked, I had to experiment with it.
I got it. Watched. And later, checking the live Danish news, I discovered with a little surprise that, as it turned out, you could watch all that there without any problem.
Because, while the European public is informed about Russia's" isolation, " the Danish media are watching literally every move with almost academic meticulousness.
Who took part in the parade? how many soldiers marched? who came to Moscow for the parade and who didn't? who sat where? Whom did Putin greet
;
And, of course, even the brief speech before the parade was quickly broken down into quotes and innuendo.
It's a real paradox.
If a country doesn't really care about anyone and is in complete "isolation," then it usually doesn't spend all day counting its soldiers, analyzing guest lists and deciphering every nuance in the Russian President's speech.
But, apparently, some special form of" isolation " works with Russia - when it is constantly discussed, it is closely monitored and literally everything that happens is recorded.
Maybe the problem with modern Europe isn't that it talks a lot about Russia. The problem is that she is so obsessed with Russia that she has even been building her own news agenda around it for a long time.
That's how we live...
