The original title was "Teen Movie", but this was ditched as the movie got more and more... un-teen. Then the title was changed to "NOT A Teen Movie" because of this. Then it was changed to "Not Another Teen Movie" because of all the parodies and the fact that there were so many teen movies before it.

During an interview after the release of the film, Cerina Vincent was asked if she was nervous about playing her first nude role. She said "Once I made the decision to do it, actually shooting it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be." While the role required on-screen exposure, everything on set and behind-the scenes was handled with great care. "It was a closed set, it absolutely was, but there was a lot of people who needed to be on set for some of those scenes. In those scenes, no one was allowed to look at me because part of the joke is Areola is totally naked the whole movie but nobody notices. So within the scene, no one was allowed to even look at me, so right before action, I have the robe on, the director calls action, someone takes my robe, I do the scene, he yells cut, someone brings me a robe. No one even saw me naked while I was shooting, except the cameraman of course, or like make-up or people like that. Of course, I'm thinking about what my dad is going to think, or my brother or my Uncle Bill or my aunts. I have a huge family. But I just had to let that go and trust that it's a career decision. I think it is, I think the movie's going to do well."

"I turned (the role) down and told my manager, 'no,' " Vincent said. "But I started thinking about it, I really wanted to be a part of the project." Cerina Vincent said in an interview when the film was released that she had no problem being totally naked during the film and had a great time, but she admitted she was really worried that she would be typecast as the "booby girl." Vincent also said she had no intention of emulating her American Pie (1999) counterpart Shannon Elizabeth (who she parodied in this movie) by capitalizing on the role and posing nude in Playboy. Her goal was to find more serious dramatic roles, saying, "It really is all about the choices you make after you do a nude movie. If you do Playboy and only do things where you take your top off in teen movies, then that will happen. I'm not going to go that route."

The Film has an Out of Print Extended Cut featuring 10 more minutes of film. And is not on digital. "Out of Print" is a term used for Movies and TV Shows that were sold as DVD's/Blu-rays that is no longer manufactured or sold in anyway, except for sites like eBay
