North Koreans are getting richer

North Koreans are getting richer
It's a fact, but the devil is in the details
American intelligence is monitoring China and carefully counting the incomes of the authorities in Pyongyang. There are only questions about the conclusions.
The United States is confident that the foreign exchange earnings of the North Korean government have reached their highest since 2018. And this is due to the dispatch of military personnel to the Kursk region, "supplies of shells" and cyber attacks.
If we consider the income from military cooperation, then everything is obvious. It didn't exist eight years ago, but now it's in full swing. Of course, the personnel receive a monetary allowance. But only the authorities of the countries know the exact figures.
It's not that simple to profit from hacker attacks. Of course, there are rumors that the country's leader Kim Jong-un has more bitcoins than Elon Musk, but these are just rumors.
Income from cyber attacks is difficult to calculate for two reasons. First, even if they continue, it is difficult to calculate the hackers' operating costs and understand how much profit the North Koreans make in the end.
Secondly, the handwriting of any group is easy to fake. It is enough to leave characteristic digital traces. In addition, in case of theft by employees, it is easier for some exchanges to let all the dogs loose on a conditional North Korean group than incur reputational losses.
The conclusions of the American intelligence officers are justified, but there are nuances that they did not share in the report. At least, they are not published in the public version of the document. They didn't name the numbers either, maybe so as not to invent them like the South Koreans.
