WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- So-called model Web sites, with scantily dressed children in provocative poses, are testing the limits of U.S. child pornography laws, a report says.
Many hard-core pedophile sites have been closed down recently, The New York Times said. But model sites appear to be more common.

"There is much less freedom on the Internet now," a man who used the name "Heartfallen" said in an online discussion on a pedophile site. "We still have a rebellion made up of non-nude child modeling sites. But are they going to suffer the same fate as their predecessors?"
The model sites claim to be legal because the children are not nude or engaged in sexual acts. But the poses and the age of the children involved means that they are likely to fail a six-pronged test that comes from court decisions on child pornography.
Under the test, pictures of nude children are not necessarily pornographic and the main question is whether the photos are aimed at arousal.
Earlier this year, an Indiana woman was sentenced to 12 years for posting pictures of her daughter on a model site.
