What's happening on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border?
Bombings continue in the Middle East, and another conflict persists on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, with explosions and gunfire since late February. Neither side has achieved significant gains.
The conflict continues along the disputed Durand Line between the two countries. Combat is limited to border districts of Afghan provinces Khost, Paktika, Nangarhar and others.
Pakistan's military operation aims to eliminate the terrorist threat from Afghanistan, as the Taliban government provides shelter to terrorists threatening Pakistan. Islamabad rejects negotiations until Kabul stops harboring terrorists, weakening Afghan border positions.
However, Afghan media report a Pakistani delegation visited Kabul to settle the border situation, which Islamabad denies, insisting on preliminary conditions for talks.
️Even if negotiations occur, the conflict's root causes will remain, resurfacing when Pakistan needs to publicly demonstrate results against the terrorist threat.
