Nita Strauss Boobs

UG News writer/editor since early 2013. King Crimson fan.
We all know what Corey Taylor thinks, but what do YOU think?
"I'm here to complain about her boobs" -said no one ever.
It is only logical you stand out in a male dominated hardrock/metal guitar world when you're a woman, not to mention a pretty one with serious chops. No shame in using that for promotion.
Yes, it's part of her niche/unique selling point
Know plenty guys that look awful and are great, but the guys in Poison got their payday though. Same difference, its just that this time around its a woman. You guys need to stop blaming boobs for the fact that you're stuck sweep-picking scales in your mom's basement while she is rocking the cover of Musician's Friend. She is awesome and looks great, that is the full package. And it is why she is there and you guys aren't, the plain honest truth!
So basically musical success is only down to your looks? Fuck off with that shit. What so just because you're not super attractive you're "stuck sweep-picking scales in your mom's basement"? What a complete and utter moron you are. Also maybe they have yaknow jobs? Just because you're not a famous guitar player doesn't mean you still live with you mum. She got lucky, she passed an audition playing other people's songs. Tons of other people could have done that. Had she not gotten the audition she may have gotten nowhere through music.
I feel like you want to misunderstand everything someone else in this comment section says just so you can rant...
Uh, actually I sweep pick upstairs at my mom's house, not in the basement *snorts and pushes up glasses*
If you don't look the part, you might not get the part. Too bad I have to teach you how the story goes, she was talented and looked the part. Sorry that you think your image on stage isn't important, enjoy your job!
You can't hear a magazine cover...you look at it, with your eyes.
Learn reading comprehension moron.
The fans who only care about how you look aren't real fans.
We're talking about the importance of image, when talent is there. But if fans can see eyes candy as a bonus, it's easier to put that artist on magazine covers and sell some than an ugly face. Because people look at magazine covers with their eyes. This is what the discussion is about moron, a magazine cover and her look. Her talent is what her fans hear and the reason she is on the cover in the first place.

She has both, and that's why she's there.
Who dressed in drag in Queen videos in order to look like a woman!!!
You're an idiot...DROPS THE MIC
video killed the radio star
Image becomes important as it's part of the entire marketability of the artist. you can call it unfair as the music should be the only thing to be judged, but that's just not how it works.
Dude no one watches music channels anymore. It's all about spotify and itunes.
That is not the plain honest truth, the plain honest truth is that one that is like that, needs to find a way to be successful, and integral, and important. She isn't taking out anybody's opportunity. We make our opportunities, and more specially men make their own opportunities, may it cost whatever it costs.
What do you get when jealousy meets sexism? Idiotic comments like this. Nita Strauss is a damn fine guitar player that has earned every accolade she's received. And all those other guitarists who are "better and deserve more recognition"? If they're truly good, maybe one day they will get recognized for their work too.
"Jealousy meets sexism" is the most perfect summary of this shit I can think of.
Actually women can be half as good as men on guitar and get praise.
How many people should like their music then?
Didn't realize you could dictate people's tastes.
Getting praise and getting a job that has strict requirements skill-wise are two completely different things. Had she not been able to play all the songs Alice Cooper wanted her to play, she wouldn't have gotten the job. She isn't the main attraction, Alice is, so there's no point in arguing that her looks made up for her lacking skill.
A woman could play a Kirk Hammett solo and blow up the internet, a guy could play the Tornado of Souls solo and no one would care just another bedroom guitar geek....
Could.... Could.... You never know, you COULD get laid.
But that is not what I mean at all. People outside of music liking something is very different from meeting the requirements to be able to play X amount of songs in Y amount of time. Doesn't matter that beautiful girls rise to internet fame for literally playing 3 chords. That's not the case here. The internet has nothing to do with her success. Her ability to play has. I'm not saying that her looks don't have anything to do with her success but rather that they are a plus. She has to be able to play just as well as a male guitarist to get a job in the band of someone like Alice Cooper.
Go find me a video of a girl playing a solo that "blew up the internet", and I'll post a video with even more views of a bedroom guitar geek demoing some gear or playing along to one of their tracks. Your statement is absolutely baseless.
Oh come on, it's a music website and you didn't go for "bassless"? My bassist heart mourns this lost opportunity for a pun.
Realistically, though, her looks and the fact that's she's female have a great deal to do with her success. There's a lot of really gifted musicians out there in the exact situation she described that are making little to no headway. Not to mention countless players on YouTube that are just as competent as guitarists. Really not trying to bash her, but let's just be honest.
Seriously? The fact that she's female has absolutely nothing to do with her success. If it were so much easier for women to become professional guitarists than men, then there would be a much larger number of them around than men. Hell, believe it or not, its actually harder for women to get far in rock and metal, due to shit like this and the whole 'machismo' aspect of that music. Ever hear of a band called Landmine Marathon? Probably not. They're a metal band with a really hot female vocalist, kind of incredible how they didn't shoot to insane success immediately just because she's a hot girl right?
Yes and no. There is sexism in the music industry and one could argue that pretty girls that can do something really good get jobs more easily but one of the reasons there's not more girls in rock is that women in general tend to assess risk differently from men and tend to not do stuff where the succesful outcome hinges on not only hard work but also a little luck. that's also one of the reasons we don't see lots of girls in e-sports. Both a career in music and in e-sports is very much a high-risk, high-reward situation, something women in general tend to avoid.
Or it's the fact most women don't want to play guitar. Most women just want to be singers. There's a reason you never see female construction workers because women don't want those jobs.
You are opening a whole other can of worms there, buddy. What you are describing is rarely on women themselves but rather on society for projecting on girls, from an early age, what they are "supposed" to be like.
Girls get music class at school just like the boys do....
Pls don't think you won the argument. I'm just tired of talking to a little kid that doesn't want to understand, no; wants to misunderstand what I'm saying. Not feeding the troll any longer.
So you have no other argument so you resort to "i'm better than you and don't need to waste my time with a peasant such as you any longer" insult?
Beautiful people are by default two steps ahead to begin with. Sure it doesn't matter as much when you're a guy (and it should matter equally as little when you're a girl) but when there are two equally talented musicians for a job, the one that is prettier will get it.
Go tell that to the hot popular highschool girls that now work fast food.
Again, not what I meant at all. Being ahead to begin with doesn't mean you're guaranteed some kind of success in life but rather that if you are just as good as everyone else you'll have it easier to get jobs. That however doesn't apply generally but only to industries where looks can get you ahead like entertainment or fashion.
I wasnt aware of Nita before hearing Pandemonium (well I heard her name before, probably even saw some video with Maidens but..) and I was highly impressed.
But being (pretty) girl help in standing out from the crowd of other great guitar players.
I'm not the biggest fan of her playing, to be honest, But i've always loved her attitude. Bitch is pretty damn Rock n Roll.
I have to say that track has one of the worst mixes I've ever heard :O Like... is it supposed to be in mono? Sounds like it. And it distorts like crazy several times.
So it's not only in my head. I heard clipping in some passages in the background.
she does have a pretty face...and nice boobs. i see her points i mean pointed i mean point
She plays complex stuff like this. Then plays Schools Out For Summer.
It's called a gig, and pretty good one at that.
What an incredibly butthurt community of guitarists LOL.
That she can play complex stuff, but then plays Schools Out for Summer? I felt that I was pretty clear.
Why does it matter though? Lots of musicians play both complex and simple songs.
It doesn't. I'm just pointing out that she's super talented, but then plays Schools Out for Summer. Like... Hiring a brain surgeon to change a lightbulb. Just a light hearted silly goofy comment. But then, this is a guitarist community and we can literally argue over anything.
Why can't we? DON'T TELL US WHAT TO DO!!!
For god's sake, stop calling it SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!
If Alice Cooper walked up to you and asked if you wanted to play School's Out live with him, would you turn him down? I do see your point though, she does seem overqualified for the position.
Lessons and maybe some boobs( win win maybe win)
I love this pulse-style fretboard. Does anybody know what model this guitar is?
its a custom ibanez "S" series. give em a year and itll be a production run
i think she mentioned in an interview that the Ibanez custom shop made built a guitar (or several?) for her, so it could be custom.
His song is actually really cool, the first phrases remind of Marty Friedman(And I love Marty) while that final melody is pretty much the same from a song I used to hear as a child.
Did I miss something? That video didn't show me any boobs? All these comments and no boobs! Wow you guys really blue balled me. I did however hear a bunch of crazy licks and headbangin riffs in that single of hers. Guess everybody was talking about someone else named Nita.
It takes an incredible amount of time to get chops on the level she has. Most teenage girls aren't going to sacrifice their social lives to lock themselves in their room and get shredder chops.
I'm not trying to bash her but its because we're living in the time where face has value.
Wow...that Pandemonium is fucking INTENSE!! I love it! And I had no time to check her boobs, it was that good. What's up with the drummer?? He's a monster!

She's a fucking beast with the guitar and she's also very down to earth, I've been to her workshop in a guitar store near my home (in Europe btw) and she was so cool.
If you like guitars, you don't stare at her as a hot chick. But as a fucking awesome guitar player who happens to be a fucking hot chick.

Nita rocks!
Ok... first she got my attention because I thought she was pretty hot.

Then I heard her chops.

She's got the best of both worlds
To anyone who thinks Nita is only famous because she's hot:
Shut the fuck up and LISTEN: she shreds.

And she's hot. Stop hatin.
She comes from a long line of classical musicians - one of her ancestors on her father's side of the family is the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II.

+She has nice boobs
i think it is tragically disturbing for 'men' to attack on women like this; not to say extremely faggish.

Guitarist says she does her best not to be distracted by online negativity.
Alice Cooper's guitarist Nita Strauss recently addressed folks who insist that she became successful only for being a female with "a pretty face."
She told Ultimate Classic Rock : "It's funny, even now - I recently announced that I'm endorsing Marshall amps, which is such a cool, cool thing as a guitar player.
"I'm 30, and I've been touring since I was 15. So it's been a long journey to get here.
"You see a lot of people saying, 'Oh, well, she's only getting those guitars because she has a pretty face.' I try not to comment back on Facebook on all of the negativity too much, but I did have to say at one point, somebody was really starting in on me, naming all of these guitar players that were better than me that should have the recognition, that should be on the cover of Musician's Friend - which I was on the cover in December.
"'Why is she on the cover? Because she has boobs.' And I said, 'Well, when all of those guys spend their entire lives in vans, hungry, cold and tired, driving through the night, hoping to sell enough t-shirts at the next show to get you to the show after that, when all of those guys take time away from their families and studies and their friends to pursue their dreams, then they can be on the cover of all of those magazines."
You can check out Nita's recent solo single "Pandemonium" in the player below.
