TOKYO— Nintendo fans are rushing to secure their next-generation Switch console as pre-orders officially opened today, sparking high demand and reports of limited stock at major retailers.

The highly anticipated successor to the Nintendo Switch, rumored to be named the Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch Pro, promises upgraded hardware, enhanced graphics, and backward compatibility with existing Switch games.
