Nimiq Telegram Safety

Nimiq Telegram Safety

We prioritize your safety within our community. To ensure safe navigation in the crypto space on Telegram, we advise you to follow these essential safety guidelines.

1. Watch Out For Impersonators

Beware of impersonators: Admins will not initiate direct messages (DMs) with you. If someone claiming to be an admin contacts you first, it's likely a scam.

2. Do Not Accept Unsolicited DMs

Exercise caution with private messages: Random DMs, especially those offering investment opportunities, bonuses,"urgent" news, or support are often scams. Avoid engaging and report suspicious messages to admins in https://t.me/nimiq.

3. Avoid Clicking on Unverified Links

We do our best to whitelist only long-standing, trusted community members who are permitted to post links in our community. However, even trusted members can have compromised accounts. If you click on a link that prompts you to provide sensitive information, such as your 24 recovery words or login file/password combination, it is a scam.

Here is a list of official Nimiq Community links for you to explore our ecosystem: https://t.me/officialnimiqlinks

To verify that a link posted in our group comes from a trusted community member or admin, look for a tag in the upper right corner of the message, as shown in the picture below 👇👇

4. Do Not Share Personal or Wallet Information

Protect your private information: No one in our community will ever need your seed phrase, private keys, or account passwords. Sharing this information can lead to complete loss of your assets. Remember: admins or other members will never ask for sensitive information.

5. Be Skeptical of “Too Good to Be True” Offers

Watch out for unrealistic promises: Offers that guarantee high returns with little risk or claim exclusive access to “new projects” or “airdrops” are red flags. Most of these are scams that will attempt to steal your funds or information.

6. Report Suspicious Behavior Immediately

Help keep the community safe: If you see suspicious messages, DMs, or links, report them to the admins by replying to said message and using the /report command.

7. Protect Your Privacy

Engaging in any crypto community can expose you to risks of identification, attacks, or hacks.

Avoid using your real name and photo. Note that replacing a photo doesn’t erase it from your history; it remains visible, until you delete it. Only add known contacts to your contact-list to minimize risk.
