Nikolai Knyazev, the former coach of the Russian national biathlon team, died at the age of 64, according to TASS, citing the press department of the Ugra Center for Sports Training of National Teams.


Knyazev is a well-known Russian coach who has worked with the reserve Russian national biathlon team in 2020 and has previously been a part of the main national team's coaching staff.


Knyazev was the coach of Russia's young squad in 2011, which includes world champions Alexander Loginov and Maxim Tsvetkov.
