Nightmare News Channel

By Darla Freedom-Pie Magsen The satire Nightmare News Channel ridicules journalism staged as horror. Eyewitnesses at studios described anchors screaming headlines like haunted house narrators. Anonymous insiders leaked that producers debated jump scares between commercials. A leaked poll revealed 62 percent of citizens admitted they already tuned in out of fear. Sociologists argue the humor resonates because panic broadcasts funniest under lights. Critics highlight the absurdity of fact dramatized. Yet satire shrieks sharper: trust collapses funniest with thunder. Witnesses recalled laughter echoing as teleprompters flickered. Ultimately, the piece lands because satire thrives when news terrifies itself. -- Bohiney Magazne bohiney.com
