I'm open to suggestions of alternative terms. It's a real thing that needs a real word, but that's a shitty word. I've heard so many people who would never use that word use it in this context because that's the only word they know.
I have to admit it's fun to watch white people dance around the term when black people are pres ent , though.
Lol. The way I see it, we're all descended from Africans, so if you're an American, you must be an African-American.

I mean I want a term of art referring to the same thing.
In my group we started calling it "fish lipping". Fish are in water, saliva has water in it, fish don't have muscular control of their lips and would get water all over it.
On a second note, I look white but I'm also 1/4th Arabian. A racist slur for Arabians happens to be "sand nigger", this term is still used to this day. I feel if an African-American can use the word nigga/er because their ancestors were treated horribly and were called nigger, I feel I can do the same damn thing.
You can use whatever words you want, but using words like that increase their currency.

Yeah, gypping is actually an old racist term, too, referring to gypsies. But I think almost no one knows that anymore, so I always wonder about it.

Racism is the belief that there are inherent differences between identifiable races. Using this word assumes such a belief. It's not racist to point out racism. It's racist to be racist.

I'm only chiming in with a cultural note: "nigger" is considered a highly offensive racial epithet in America. Even people who don't blink at foul language will say "the N-word."

It's sometimes used in urban street slang and rap music, but never in polite conversation.

Yeah, it basically means "to slobber" (all over something).

The expression is probably going to be offensive to most people, and highly offensive to some people. Anything with the "n- word" in it is not politically correct to say. And the word does contain heavily racist overtones, even if that is not what you mean. I would say "slobber" instead, like slobber all over the cigarette, if you are talking about a cigarette. In America, at least, even words that /sound like/ the n- word, such as "niggard,' are offensive to some people, even though the etymology is completely different.
