MetalX B-9 Nickel Stripper MetalX B-929 Nickel Stripper B-929 Nickel Stripper - for removing electrolytic nickel from copper, brass, silver, gold, and zinc die-cast.
Electroless nickel will strip at the same rate, providing the phosphorous content does not exceed 5%. Higher phosphorous electroless nickel will take longer to strip. 2.5 lbs of MetalX stripper makes 1 gallon of stripping solution.
COLSTRIP NI-FE 100L A nickel stripper that provides a safe, immersion solution to strip nickel deposits from ferrous and nonferrous substrates without attacking the base metal.
Purpose Crest Nickel Stripper A was developed to remove electroplated nickel from steel and copper alloys by immersion. The stripping solution is safe on soldering and brazing metals. When a new solution is made, the stripping rate is about 1.0 to 1.3 mils of nickel metal per hour at 150°F. As the solution ages, the stripping rate will decrease to about 0.7mils of nickel metal per hour at 150°F.
Electroplating Grade Nickel Stripper Professional Electroplating grade Nickel Stripper solution specifically formulated for efficient nickel removal applications. Our nitric acid-based stripper delivers effective metal removal and consistent performance for electroplating rework and surface treatment requiring reliable stripping action.

History Nickel electroplating was developed in the first half of the 19th century, with notable experiments made by Golding Bird (1837) and nickel nitrate patent by Joseph Shore (1840). The first practical recipe, an aqueous solution of nickel and ammonium sulfates, was invented by Böttger in 1843 and was in use for 70 years. [8]

Please tell us the substrate and (if you know it) the type of electroless nickel (boron, high phosphorous, etc.), but your plating is quite thin (<0.0002") and it should not be a big problem to remove it with a proprietary nickel stripper.

Metal Strippers for Industrial Finishing Applications Technic's advanced metal strippers are designed to ease the process of removing a certain metal from the plated surface. Technic has a range of strippers available compatible with a large variety of metals, such as copper, iron, steel, nickel, nickel alloys, brass, and kovar, among others.
In other words, the solution attacks nickel but also the underlying material as soon as it is exposed. You can buy proprietary Ni stripping solutions from your friendly neighborhood chemical supplier or you can use a combination of sulfuric, phosphoric and nitric acids.
Our Nickel Stripper for Steel strips nickel plating from steel easily and delivers the following pluses; low hazzard and low odour
Brownells Room Temperature Nickel Stripper is an immersion-process chemical stripper developed to remove both electrolytic and electroless nick-el plating from steel, copper, and copper alloys. The process is safe, simple, and requires no heat, agitation, or electrical hookups. The mixed solution will remove nickel plating at the approximate rate of 1/4 to 3/8 mil per hour. One gallon of ...
Chemical nickel strippers remove the most nickel per gallon of solution when they are correctly maintained. A stripping bath that is used lightly and kept hot over a prolonged time period will strip less nickel than an identical bath that is used quickly. To prolong bath life, allow all B-9 products to cool to room temperature when not in use.
Stripping of Plated Finishes The processes, chemicals and equipment, plus control and troubleshooting.
NS41 is a nickel stripper concentrate. This is used in combination with stabilized hydrogen peroxide, Cir130A, to strip nickel metal from copper substrates. NS41 gives very little copper attack. The NS41 process leaves the copper bright and shiny and ready for further processing. NS41 is used for electroless and electrolytically plated nickel.
I am currently working on isolating the nickel metal from the solution, so keep an eye out for that video.

Nickel plating removal /stripping Q. No nitric acid on steel. What would be the best method to remove the plating from rims then? I have some old steel and aluminum rims that are peeling. Most of the methods I'v come across are for one or the other. Marshall DuHaime - Tallahassee, Florida September 5, 2009 publicly reply to Marshall DuHaime Ed. note: the solution will evolve copious clouds of ...
The invention discloses a high-speed environment-friendly chemical stripping solution for a nickel coating and a preparation method thereof, wherein each liter of the high-speed environment-friendly chemical stripping solution for the nickel coating contains: 70-150 g of sodium m-nitrobenzenesulfonate, 50-150 g of citric acid, 100-300 mL of ethylenediamine, 5-15 g of accelerator, 2-20 g of ...

Metalx Specialty Products, Inc. offers the only one-component, non-toxic, powdered immersion nickel strippers on the market. Our products remove NICKEL from steel, copper, brass, zinc die-cast, gold, silver, and aluminum.
For electroless nickel, a heated alkaline solution is listed, but I have never seen it used anywhere. Most commonly, nitric acid or proprietary stripping baths are used. Also note, you cannot plate out of nitric acid - it is too strong an oxidizer. What are your alloy & substrate (s)? What are you presently using for stripping?

stripping nickel plating from a saxophone key. It's made easy with a DIY solution and reverse electro-plating.
A. Nickel stripping solutions can't tell the difference between nickel plating and nickel alloy so there is no effective way of stripping. If the parts were plated correctly, there should be a copper layer over the alloy 52 for this exact reason.
