While most people’s headaches involve love or money problems, this woman in China’s daily struggles generally revolve around her, uhm, derriere.
She even tells of a time when she caused a fight between a couple when the man pointed out her backside to his girlfriend.
Now, she’s taken to wearing baggy clothes when going out in public.
The competition was China’s version of the massively popular Miss BumBum contest in Brazil.
With the money she won, she was able to start an eponymous gym in Shenyang, where she also serves as a fitness coach to teach other women how she achieved her amazing body.
Thanks to her ever-growing popularity, Gao has been able to buy herself her dream car and a home by the sea.
If you think Gao was just born lucky, think again. It takes a lot of effort to achieve and maintain her body, as evidenced by Gao’s intense training regimen.
Her workout often includes thousands of squats and leg raises, as well as gym sessions that last up to six hours.
So it’s understandable for Gao to be proud of her award-winning asset. Who wouldn’t be? She even jokingly refers to herself as the ‘Asia Ass Queen’ and the ‘China Ass Champion’.
“My father gave me much encouragement after I signed up for the competition. My family also thinks it’s a very positive thing to do,” she said.

Life is not always easy for a woman with a curvy body, according to the champion of the 'most beautiful buttocks' contest in China .
Gao Qian, 19, who stunned the judges with her shapely rear, confessed that she couldn't wear tights on the street because 'people would surround me and point at my backside'.
The young woman, who now only wears baggy clothing in public, told MailOnline that she was particularly embarrassed once when a couple argued in front of her after the man praised her bottom to his girlfriend.

Hailing from Shenyang, the provincial capital of Liaoning Province in north-east China, Ms Gao is the winner of the 'most beautiful buttocks' contest on June 24.
The sought-after contest, held in a shopping mall in Shenyang, was China's answer to the hugely popular Miss BumBum competition in Brazil.
During the event, some 50 women proudly writhed, wiggled and shook their curvy bottoms to get the attention of seven judges.

The timid woman, who is 5ft 7in and weighs 60kg (132lbs), recently realised that she 'has the kind of body for the competition' after her friends pointed it out to her.
She then put herself under gruelling training to prepare for the contest.
A fitness fanatic herself, Ms Gao spent averagely six hours a day doing thousands of squats and lunges to keep her body in shape.
'I'm very pleased with the results,' Mr Gao told MailOnline. 'I will carry on training no matter how hard it might get.'
'This is the career I love,' she added.
Mr Gao said her buttocks are natural and she has never had implants. To her, a beautiful rear means it's 'curvy' and 'plump'.
The newly crowned beauty queen said that Kim Kardashian has the perfect proportion because 'her buttocks are curvy and her waist is tiny'.

However, she also feels that Asian women have a disadvantage compared to Caucasian or Latino women when it comes to their curves.
'It might be a genetic thing or the bone structure,' she said. 'In addition, they have more systematic training.'
'I follow Brazilian media and read about the Miss BumBum. It's be my dream to attend the competition one day.'
In a country whose culture is still relatively conservative, Mr Gao said her family support what she does, and she feels lucky about it.
'My father gave me much encouragement after I signed up for the competition. My family also think it's a very positive thing to do.'

The 'most beautiful buttocks' contest was a part of a bodybuilding competition a Chinese fitness club organised
China's 'most beautiful buttocks' contest is organised by Saipu, a Beijing-based fitness club.
Zang Zhichao, from Saipu Fitness Club, explained the company's inspiration to MailOnline: 'With the development of the times, men are looking for more visual stimulation, and the public want more entertainment.'
Mr Zhang claimed that he had not heard of the 'Miss BumBum' contest in Brazil.
He said the 'most beautiful buttocks' contest was a part of a bodybuilding competition his company had organised.
'Compared to other bodybuilding contests, showing off the bums has the lowest requirements, so more people could enter,' Mr Zhang explain.
'And it didn't need much publicity, people would just come and see it. '
Last year in Brazil, the champion of Miss BumBum walked away with an £18,000 modelling contract. In comparison, the prize of Saipu's competition was relatively small. Gao Qian was awarded 5,000 yuan (£568) in cash.
However, Mr Zang said the company was planning to host another grand final later this year in Beijing.
He said the current plan is to hold it in Bird's Nest, the Chinese national stadium, on December 24. However, the details are yet to be finalised.
