In light of the large-scale Russian offensive on Ukraine, Poland Ukrlenta has deployed its military aircraft. The nation’s military has activated air defense and radar monitoring systems. This information was shared by the press service of the Operational Command of Poland’s Armed Forces.
"Due to the aggression from the Russian Federation targeting sites within Ukraine, our military planes are now active within Polish airspace. Following established protocols, the operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces has mobilized the necessary assets available. Fighter jets have been deployed, and ground-based air defense alongside radar systems have reached operational readiness," the department stated around 7 a.m.
The announcement further clarified that these measures are precautionary and are intended to safeguard and protect the airspace, particularly in regions close to sensitive areas.
"The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is closely observing the current developments, and the forces remain prepared for an instant response," the official statement emphasized.
Major Russian Assault on Ukraine on November 29 - Key Details
On November 29, Russia executed a significant shelling campaign targeting Kyiv. Reports indicate that this attack resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left 29 others injured.
Moreover, the western sectors of the capital experienced power outages due to the bombardment, with energy technicians now focusing on restoring electrical service.
Additionally, the assault impacted the Kyiv region, leading to damage in various localities and resulting in casualties. The city of Fastiv was temporarily deprived of electricity following the strikes.
"At present, critical infrastructure in this vicinity is operating on backup power. Water supply, sewage, gas distribution, and communication systems are functioning. Resilience points are prepared to start operating," stated Mykola Kalashnik, the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration.
