New York firms consider multiple sites for gaming properties
New York State will soon acquire three commercial casino licenses, and NYC developers and game operators are already looking for possible locations. Some of the potential sites currently discussed include Times Square and Hudson Yazes, with talk of possible casino properties also on Willett Point in Queens and Coney Island in Brooklyn.
The New York State Legislature has officially included fast-tracking on three Downstate Casino licenses in this year's budget. This allows you to deploy three licenses at least one year earlier. Eric Adams, the mayor of Big Apple, said he wanted to see at least two commercial licenses in the city.
Property brands such as Hudson Yards' Related Companies, Vornado and Times Square's SL Green are interested parties seeking to introduce casino properties in their area. Together with Hard Rock, Sands and Wynn, they teamed up with game giants to revitalize the stadium and present preliminary plans to Gov. Cathy Hochul and other state officials.
Representatives from related companies have already met with city officials to discuss potential casino plans on the far-off West Side. The company is a major developer of Hudson Yards, and its spokesman, John Weinstein, commented that the property giant is currently reviewing options for a potential gambling site in Manhattan.
Thor Equities is also one of the interested parties, and the company wants to build a commercial gaming facility on Coney Island. In Sunday's interview, business tycoon John Katzmatidis and the owner said Casino Amenitidis would be a nice addition to Coney Island and Brooklyn. Because in his opinion it will bring a lot of vitality to the borough.
Casino leader Hard Rock has already shown a desire to participate in the NYC gaming project. Company lobbyists have already met with City Hall Chief of Staff Frank Caron to discuss casino property development. And along with the Mets' Cohen, he presented plans for the Willett Point Casino, which is easily accessible via Subway 7, Long Island Railway, Grand Central Parkway, and Long Island Expressway.

However, the aforementioned companies will compete a lot when it comes to the three commercial licenses.
