Porn star Dahlia Sky was found dead in her car from an apparent gunshot wound on Wednesday. She was 31.
The 10-year veteran of the adult entertainment industry would have observed her 32nd birthday on Aug. 10, according to Adult Video News .
Police are looking into the case as a potential suicide. The adult industry performer had allegedly been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and was battling depression at the time of her death, the Sun reported .
Sky’s body was found in the vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. June 30 in the San Fernando Valley’s Devonshire area, LAPD detective Dave Peteque told AVN. Police are awaiting autopsy results from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
While no formal cause of death has been recorded, Peteque said “potential suicide” is “what the investigation is leaning towards, and there’s no evidence at this time that there’s any foul play.”
Since her passing, friends and fans have come forward to memorialize Sky’s prolific career and nuanced personality.
“During her last year I spoke to her several times about life. It was not an easy ride for her,” said Hans — the mononymous owner of JHP Films, which co-produced some of Sky’s previous work — in a statement to AVN. “This will take a long time to get over, if it’s even possible. Dahlia Sky, you beautiful soul, you funny, complicated and warm-hearted friend! I am going to miss you so much.”
Sky began adult entertainment work in 2010 under the name Bailey Blue — she changed it in 2014 following a cease-and-desist from a clothing company of the same name, according to AVN — and proceeded to accrue more than 600 credits, as well as various industry awards. She was open about her battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and depression on social media.
“She was super funny and she had a big heart, but unfortunately her battle with breast cancer took a toll on her mental health and she struggled with depression, as most people would,” producer Axel Braun told AVN of Sky. “My heart goes out to her family and loved ones, we lost a beautiful soul.”

Steven Spielberg 's daughter says she has self-produced adult entertainment videos and is an aspiring sex worker in a new tell-all interview.
Mikaela Spielberg, one of the famed director's seven children, has begun self-producing solo adult film videos at the age of 23, she told The Sun .
Spielberg's daughter, who lives in Nashville, Tenn., has already submitted an application to become a sex worker — and the self-proclaimed "sexual creature" shared in the revealing interview that her famous father is supportive of her endeavors.

According to the aspiring star, the " Schindler's List " director and his wife, Kate Capshaw, were "intrigued" when she shared the news with them of her new porn gig over the weekend. She added that her parents were "not upset" by her revelation.
The 23-year-old added that producing solo porn has made her feel satisfied after having battled years of mental health issues and alcoholism.
"I got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body," Mikaela told the outlet .
She continued: "And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn't satisfying to my soul. I feel like doing this kind of work, I'm able to 'satisfy' other people, but that feels good because it's not in a way that makes me feel violated."
The 73-year-old director's daughter opened up about past abuse by "predators" during her early years by "outsiders" who had no relation to the " Jaws " filmmaker. She's also been open about her borderline personality disorder.
Mikaela first announced her solo porn career on her social media accounts, declaring that her new gig is "safe" and "consensual." She said her goal is to earn enough money from the opportunity that she won't need to rely on her father's funds.
"I can't stay dependent on my parents or even the state for that matter – not that there's anything wrong with that – it just doesn't feel comfortable for me," Mikaela said.

Mikaela stressed that she does not feel any shame in her choices and sees her new career as a "positive, empowering choice."
She pointed out that she will not engage in sex on camera with anyone else. Mikaela is currently engaged to a man named Chuck Pankow, 47, who also is rallying behind her budding adult entertainment career.
For now, Mikaela told The Sun that her videos have consisted of showing off her "moneymaker" breasts and hinted that she believes "fetish work" could become one of her specialties.
Her stage name was revealed to be "Sugar Star" and her videos were up on PornHub but she took them down while she awaits the approval of her Tennessee sex worker license.
The young woman added that her hope is for Spielberg and Capshaw to see her grow in her new endeavors.
Spielberg and Capshaw adopted Mikaela in 1996 and she grew up in the film industry, having spent time on the set of "Artificial Intelligence" as a young girl.
The famous director's daughter concluded that she's always shared a special bond with her dad, whether over their mutual love of sci-fi and horror, or just the fact that Spielberg and Capshaw have been incredibly self-sacrificing and supportive.
"I have amazing parents that had their struggles with me, I've had my fights and struggles with them, but it's only out of fear that people sometimes care incorrectly because they want you to be alive and safe," she said.
Reps for Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw did not respond to Fox News' request for comment.

Some of the world’s most famous adult actors are exposing themselves in a very different way — speaking out about how their kinky careers have adversely impacted their personal lives.
The X-rated rompers were probed on the Australian TV series “You Can’t Ask That,” which went to air Down Under on Wednesday.
Angela White, 35, was one of the stars who appeared on the show, with the porn queen confessing that getting down and dirty on camera has had a detrimental effect on her dating life.
“It is difficult to find a partner that you truly connect with,” White — who has been dubbed “the Meryl Streep of porn” — admitted to the audience.
The busty brunette was raised in Australia, before entering the industry while on a vacation to the US when she was 18.
“It was a little scary because it was my first time overseas,” she recalled. “I was a curious teen and I was always fascinated by porn. Now when I’m f – – king on camera it’s much easier than an interview like this.”
When asked what porn sets smell like, White revealed that things can get a little stinky if they’re not properly ventilated.
“If it’s a summer day and the air-con isn’t running it smells like sweat,” she stated.
But despite the stink — and the struggle to find Mr. Right — White hasn’t grown tired of being a porn star after almost two decades in the biz.
“They say do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life,” she told the show.
Meanwhile, actress Arianna Kody also sat down to answer candid questions on “You Can’t Ask That,” and also admitted that porn had negatively impacted her dating life.
“I am most celibate now [outside of porn],” the actress said. “I guess it’s kind of ruined sex for me in my personal life.”
Kody appeared alongside ’80s adult actress Nikki Stern, who left porn to become a librarian. Stern similarly stated that porn had also ruined any intimacy she had off-camera.
However, gay porn star Woody Fox, 33, offered a different perspective.
“I don’t think it ruins sex in any way, but I think it changes how I see sex,” he explained. “I’ve definitely taken sex and romance and moved them away from each other. So I now look at sex like I would going to the gym.”
Fox told the show that while he does some eye-popping positions on camera, he prefers much more vanilla lovemaking in his personal life.
“For me personally I just like really boring bed sex because I’ve done everything really wild and crazy,” he said.
Elsewhere, the X-rated star was asked by the audience how his family reacted to news of his porn pursuits.
“My dad flipped out,” he stated, adding that he has a gay brother who he hopes hasn’t unsuspectingly clicked on one of his kinky clips.
Meanwhile, Robbie Oz — who recently appeared in The Post after his fiancée spoke out about his kinky career — discussed his hyper-religious background.
“I was brought up in a strict Jehovah’s Witness family,” Oz said. “Maybe because all that was kind of pushed down that I went the other way. I think everyone has some part in them that’s curious like ‘I wonder if I could have done porn.’ “
Also on the show, actress Rubi Valentine said she is “scared” of how porn has affected her relationship with sex.
The brunette told audiences that she finds less sexual activities now make her heart race faster.
“I’m really into handholding and kissing,” she revealed. “I’m really taking it back to basics, I suppose. That’s more intimate to me.”
