A band of cheeky mini golfers believe they've beaten the world record for the most people playing the sport completely naked.
A group of 47 men and women shed their clothes and had a crack at the 36-par course in the Western Sydney suburb of Campbelltown on Sunday, and they smashed the previous record of 30.
Teed up by the Young Nudists of Australia, the event was held to challenge the stereotype that all nudists are old and grey.
"I think we definitely challenged some stereotypes with this event,” the event’s 32-year-old organiser Matt – who would only reveal his first name – said.
"I think the older, beach style events are tacky and worn. But my generation responds to social media driven, gimmicky events like this.
"The atmosphere was very jovial, there was lots of cheering and psych-out's. The course was pretty magnificent too."
Matt added that the attendees were aged between 18 and 40 and were 70 per cent male and 30 per cent female.
Staring and unsolicited cameras were forbidden at the world record attempt, while towels were compulsory for hygienic reasons.
Matt said he was initially drawn to the sense of freedom from nudism, but that it later become a thread in his social life.
But he still believes Australia has a long way to go when it comes to getting starkers.
"I was always drawn to the sense of freedom. It's very liberating. You learn to embrace yourself and be more comfortable in your body,” he said.
"Some people who get involved have body image issues, and it's a great way to overcome that. That's certainly something I have gotten out of it – but it's also a great way to meet new people.
"They call Australia the laidback country, but we can actually be quite prudish. I'm not sure nudism will ever be mainstream here."
Their daring golf game efforts are now being submitted to official Guinness World Record adjudicators in the hope of officially being named the most amount of people to play sport naked.

In spring 1933 Hobart Grassey, a Syracuse University graduate with a degree in psychology, his wife Lura, and their partner Peter McConville, leased a piece of land in the hills above Lake Elsinore near Ortega Highway. They were on the forefront of a new movement in America — nudism.
The land they leased became one of the first nudist resorts on the West Coast, to the shock of authorities in both Riverside and Orange counties. They called their new venture Elysia.
A year later they purchased 330 acres three miles up the highway from their original site, moving the resort to a more isolated spot that straddled the Riverside County/ Orange County line. They called the new resort Olympic Fields. The location of the land in both counties was an advantage if law enforcement from one county came calling. Anyone at Olympic Fields could just hurry to the other county, where the law enforcement officers didn’t have jurisdiction.
Olympic Fields was a rustic camp with small cabins that did not have electricity. Members could leave behind their weekday cares and come to the resort year-round. There they could enjoy nature au natural among the oak, sycamore and pine trees.
Two films were shot at the resort. The first was filmed in 1934. Titled “Elysia, Valley of the Nudes,” it was designed to show the benefits of the nudist lifestyle. Hobart Grassey appeared in the film and was its producer. In 1938 the movie “Unashamed” was filmed. The plot revolved around a young woman who entices her workaholic boss to the camp in the hopes of winning his heart. McConville had a role in the film as the gatekeeper. Resort members, in the buff, appeared in the background of scenes in both movies.
The partnership between the Grasseys and McConville was dissolved in 1935 due to financial disagreements. Hobart and Lura went on to found another nudist colony in La Tuna Canyon, in the Los Angeles area. McConville continued operating Olympic Fields. He added a small community building where members enjoyed potlucks, dances and games.
In 1954, resort members Wally and Flo Nilson bought the resort from an aging McConville for $7 an acre. They renamed the resort “McConville” in his honor. The Nilsons ran the resort together and raised their three children there, taking them up and down the hill to Lake Elsinore for school. They added a pool and volleyball, tennis and shuffleboard courts in an effort to attract new members. The Nilsons divorced in 1981 and the property was split between them. Flo continued running McConville on her 129 acres.
As time went on it became harder and harder to attract new members to a nudist club that was more rustic camp than modern resort. After the divorce, Flo did not have the cash to make the improvements needed to attract a new generation of nudists. Flo was finally forced to close the McConville nudist resort in 2007.
