The atmospheric flight model is being improved in the new flight model with the addition of drag, uplift, and turbulence. Taking into account the air density, shape, and size of the ship, the feel of flight will be noticeably different from space. For example, wing-based fighters will create substantially more uplift, and in turn maneuver markedly faster, than more brick-shaped ships.
