The Kerem Tunnel is the first bike tunnel in Israel and was inaugurated as part the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle route that circles the capital.
The tunnel links the paths between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. It is located in southern Israel within Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the nearest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.
The 2.1-kilometer long tunnel was opened on Thursday by Jerusalem and heritage minister Ze'evElkin and Moshe Lion, the Mayor. Moshe Lion. Avi Baleshnikov of Gihon, chairman of Gihon, and hundreds other cyclists also attended.

The goal is to encourage biking among its residents and promote the green transport revolution in the capital."
The Kerem Tunnel was originally excavated in 1990 to move the main sewer from Gihon Corporation towards the Sorek purification facility. The plant is located west of Sorek and is currently used as an infrastructure tunnel.
