NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He stated, "It's so exciting to once more see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, already in the process of surpassing or exceeding the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019". "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking tourist entry numbers every month. We are thrilled to see this shift and expect an ongoing upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August witnessed the number increase to 6,000.
