NEW YORK - September 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- New record breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 that's a 4 percent increase from the year before and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) declared that it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019 he stated. "The United States is our top market for inbound tourism for Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are thrilled to see this positive change, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Not far behind in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
"It is exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is growing," said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're still not far from our record 2019 numbers and we expect that this surge in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more comfortable travelling internationally."
Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international tourists in 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they're vaccinated. The country has already hosted over 600,000.
