NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans in July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase from 2019 seven thousand tourists from America were in Israel during August 2022.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to observe a rise in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019, he added. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we had record-breaking figures of tourist entry month after month. It's a fantastic positive shift that we are happy to see and we anticipate an increase in the years to be."
Canada which isn't too far behind that of the United States of America, is set to beat its tourist arrivals to Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in visitors in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record numbers for 2019 We are hoping that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians remain comfortable traveling internationally."
Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official reopening to all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already received more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
