Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourism entry Numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswirein July and August 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of visitors from America. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% growth over 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is exciting to see a new rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019," he stated. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are thrilled to witness this change and are expecting a steady upward trend for months and even years.
Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada had 7,200 visitors while August witnessed 6,600.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see Canada's tourism to Israel returning. "We are not too far away from our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that the growth in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain comfortable travelling abroad."
Israel received more tourists from all over the world during the year 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 were American. Israel's official reopening to travellers from May 2018. The country has received more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
